We had the good fortune of connecting with Chanel Cooper and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chanel, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I started my first business Bonnie’s Gracious Creations, I did it as a hobby to help me deal with the grief of losing my mother. When I begin posting pictures on social media friends and family wanted to purchase the pieces I created. The second business Graced 2 Overcome started after I begin the process of being healed from grief and other life challenges.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets my creations apart from others is I pay very close attention to detail and each piece is made with love and care.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I think the Georgia Aquarium is a beautiful place to visit for all ages. There are a lot of different places to eat it all depends on what you have a taste for. Soul food, Mexican, or Italian. I love Nana’s Chicken and Waffles in Conyers, GA. It’s a small restaurant with the best fried chicken ever.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a shoutout to my wonderful husband Tahre Cooper. For his unconditional love and support. My husband was the first person to financially sow into my jewelry business and also encouraged me to start the 2nd business Graced 2 Overcome to remind people they are stronger than they believe.
