We had the good fortune of connecting with Carla Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carla, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
I disagree that you have to have a well thought out plan to succeed. In my experience, I have only needed to have an idea of what I want to do or where I want to go, and belief in that idea. My faith that I can accomplish what I want is enough to drive me there.

All of the answers appear when I’m searching…searching is action. In the meme culture we live in today, it seems a lot of people have forgotten that the beautiful words we share with each other require action. So, don’t just believe it, you have to also do it! Things won’t always turn out how you expect and that’s ok. Just know that you don’t always need to know how it’s going to happen, you only need the ambition and belief that it can.

What should our readers know about your business?
I currently moderate and curate content for Timeless Tv, we talk about pop culture, business, music production and we dive deep into the history of how some of our favorite things today were created. The blog is very successful, but it was not easy getting here. It took consistency and a lot of working when I didn’t feel like it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For breakfast I would take them to Atlanta Breakfast Club, then we could spend a few hours at the Aquarium, then we’d go to Ponce City Market to hang out and for dinner I would definitely take my guests to MF Sushi in West Midtown for the city’s best sushi.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shout out to JaneBanga. She’s a dope artist from St. Louis and she just dropped a song called “You” that’s been on repeat since I heard it, so I’ll share that with you guys.
