We had the good fortune of connecting with Brytni Janae’ and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brytni, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I hate regular jobs. 9 to 5 jobs give me a lot of anxiety and I’ve learned that a lot of managers don’t know how to manage properly. They make their employees feel inadequate or incapable of doing their jobs instead of just helping them along the way to be a better employee. I decided that if I start my own business, I wouldn’t have to deal with any of that. Also, I figured that if I started my own business and had people working under me one day, I would make sure that they will be treated with respect.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a singer and songwriter, model, a photographer, pianist, dancer, actress, and film director and producer. I try to do more than “it all” because there’s so many lanes out there. No need to choose just one! All of these things I can do now I had to really learn and study over the years and even past months! It definitely got hard at some points but overall I made it to the other side and now it seems way easier than before. I think the biggest challenge for me was to follow my heart and not what I “should” be doing. It took a long time to figure out the difference between doing something out of tradition or completely changing everything and doing my passion work. I think everyone should know that my journey is one of many highs and lows, but the part that matters is that I really went through to the end and I didn’t quit. And I don’t plan to!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In Atlanta, I’m taking them to Ponce City Market Rooftop for fun and games, Krog Street Market for some really good food choices, Six Flags, or the belt line to see some beautiful art.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents and my best friend Jaier have always been so supportive of my dreams, even though they change so often. I’m still grateful for all that they’ve done and all they probably will do!!
