Meet Brooke Deron | Owner of Brooke Deron Apparel & Wrapper’s Delight

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brooke Deron and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brooke, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The inception of both my businesses felt like a natural evolution of my passions. Brooke Deron Apparel was a dream waiting to materialize. My love for fashion was evident from a very young age, and although I initially pursued a more traditional career path for stability, the allure of fashion never waned. It wasn’t until the summer of 2018, with the burgeoning influence of social media, that the idea of starting my own fashion line became tangible again. As a fashion blogger, I found my voice, but it was during the Black Lives Matter movement that I felt compelled to take a stand. I launched Brooke Deron Apparel with just two statement t-shirts designed to inspire and motivate, and it’s been thriving ever since.

Wrapper’s Delight, on the other hand, was born out of a desire to infuse the holiday season with a greater African American presence. What began as a gift wrapping company has since expanded to include pajamas, gift bags, gift boxes, and comprehensive gift wrapping services. Our goal is to bring a touch of cultural richness and joy to every package we create.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Brooke Deron Apparel and Wrapper’s Delight are more than just businesses to me; they are extensions of my passion and creativity. What sets us apart is our dedication to authenticity and cultural representation. At Brooke Deron Apparel, we create fashion that speaks to individuality and empowerment, inspired by the moments and movements that shape our world. Our designs aim to inspire, motivate, and celebrate diversity.

One of the moments I’m most proud of is when the incredible Tabitha Brown endorsed our business. Seeing her wear and share our Athleisure line with her millions of followers was not only a thrilling endorsement but also a testament to the impact and reach of our brand.

The journey to where we are today hasn’t been easy. There were countless challenges along the way, from navigating the competitive fashion industry to balancing the demands of two growing businesses. Overcoming these obstacles required resilience, adaptability, and a strong support system. I’ve learned to celebrate every small victory, stay true to my vision, and always keep pushing forward, no matter the setbacks.

The most valuable lesson I’ve learned is the importance of staying authentic and connected to my roots. This authenticity resonates with our customers and fuels our growth. I want the world to know that Brooke Deron Apparel and Wrapper’s Delight are brands that stand for more than just products; they represent a story of passion, perseverance, and cultural pride.

Our goal is to continue bringing joy and inspiration to our customers through our unique designs and thoughtful packaging, making every experience with our brands special and memorable.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d want to give them the most relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Here’s what our week-long tropical escape would look like:

**Day 1: Arrival and Settling In**
– **Stay**: We’d start by checking into a luxurious beachfront resort where we can hear the waves and feel the ocean breeze.
– **Relax**: Spend the afternoon unwinding by the pool or on the beach, soaking up the sun.
– **Dinner**: Enjoy a beachfront dinner with fresh seafood and tropical cocktails as we watch the sunset.

**Day 2: Beach Day and Spa**
– **Morning**: Start the day with a sunrise yoga session on the beach.
– **Beach Time**: Relax on the pristine white sands, swim in the crystal-clear waters, and sail on a yacht.
– **Spa Afternoon**: Treat ourselves to a full-body massage and spa treatments to fully unwind.
– **Dinner**: Dine at a local beachside restaurant known for its delicious tropical cuisine.

**Day 3: Island Exploration**
– **Day Trip**: Take a boat tour to explore nearby islands. Snorkeling in vibrant coral reefs and visiting secluded beaches will be the highlight.
