We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittney Keith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittney, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
For me, even when I was little, I always had an ambitious, entrepreneur mindset. I knew I wanted to be successful, but wasn’t sure on how. I can honestly my boss/mentor, Footy, really instilled me to always be your own boss. Outside of working for him, he always encourages me to take what I learn and to re-create it for my own brand/business. I always had my paperwork done (registering my business, etc) but I never really took it seriously into this year. I think a lot of times we get caught up working for someone else our whole lives, but in the background don’t think to put things in place to plant seeds for ourself, our family, and our future generation.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So I’m kind of my own brand. I started out with Usher’s non-profit, then Rollingout Magazine, worked a little with the promotion team at Quality Control Music, and now the glue for Never Eat Alone Entertainment. Outside of working with Never Eat Alone Entertainment, I also ventured into re-branding and launching BrittneyK Branding Agency. BrittneyK Branding Agency is a communications, marketing, and branding agency that offers digital, marketing, and branding services for artists and creatives. What sets me apart from others is being a female, my age, ambition, and turning my struggle into success. Many people in the industry have all hit rock bottom at one point in their life, but the part that separates people is those that got up, or those that laid there. I think for me- being that I was so young and went through a series of unfortunate events just to chase after my dreams, that will forever set me apart because it motivated me to get where I am today. The lesson that I’ve learned is to always remember your value. Do not let any man, woman, age, race try to undervalue you. Always know your value and always move with a sharp mindset whenever and whenever.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is dedicated to my mother, my family & close friends, and my second family/job, Never Eat Alone Entertainment.
