Hi Brittany, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
I believe that a blend of several key habits is essential for achieving and maintaining success in this dynamic field. Firstly, continuous learning and skill development is crucial. The beauty industry evolves rapidly, and staying informed about the latest trends, techniques, and products ensures that my services remain relevant and sought after.

Organizational skills are also fundamental. By maintaining a well-organized kit and schedule, I can optimize my workflow and enhance my professional image, ensuring that each client interaction is smooth and positive.

Networking plays a significant role as well. Building and nurturing professional relationships within the industry can lead to collaborative opportunities and client referrals, which are invaluable for business growth.

Upholding stringent sanitation an hygiene practices is non-negotiable, not only for client safety by also for maintaining a professional standard.

Lastly, prioritizing self-care ensures that I remain both physically and mentally prepared to meet the demands of my profession, thereby sustaining my passion and energy for my work.

These habits, collectively, form the cornerstone of my approach as a makeup artist and are integral to my professional success and personal fulfillment in this career.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My journey as a makeup artist has been both challenging and incredibly rewarding. I began with a strong passion for art and beauty, which led me to pursue formal training in makeup artistry. Through hands-on courses and self-taught practices, I honed my skills, always striving to understand the nuances of different styles, features, and techniques.

One of the key challenges I faced early in my career was building a client base. To overcome this, I focused heavily on networking and showcasing my work on social media platforms. I participated in local events and collaborated with photographers and stylists, which gradually helped me establish a reputation for quality and creativity.

Throughout my career, I’ve learned the importance of adaptability and resilience. The beauty industry is ever-evolving, and staying adaptable allows me to continuously offer fresh and innovative looks that align with current trends. Resilience has taught me to view every setback as a learning opportunity and to never lose sight of my passion, even when faced with obstacles.

I want the world to know that my story is one of perseverance and dedication. It’s about believing in your artistic vision and relentlessly pursuing your goals, regardless of the challenges that come your way. My journey underscores the importance of support, both from others and in believing in oneself, which has been instrumental in shaping my career and will hopefully inspire others in their own pursuits.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For a week-long trip with my best friend, I would have to take her to my favorite food places. For breakfast, the Chastain is a must as well as brunch at Le Petit Marché. For dinner, I’d have to go to Umi for sushi, the Lobster bar for the best steak, and Casa Nuova for my favorite Italian spot.

My favorite stroll is Chastain Park so I would definitely take her for an afternoon in the sun. I would also have to take her to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens as well as the High Museum of Art to show her some Atlanta staples. For a morning hike I’d have to take her to visit the Sawnee Mountain Preserve.

To shop I’d have to go to either Ponce City Market or head up north to The Avalon in Alpharetta. And to end the perfect weekend, we would have to go to the spa at the St. Regis – my all time favorite massage!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve been fortunate to have a strong support network that has played a crucial role in my development and success. Firstly, my dearest friends have always been there for me, providing both practical advice and emotional support as I navigated the challenges and milestones of my career. Their encouragement and honest feedback have been invaluable.

My parents have also been fundamental to my journey. They instilled a strong work ethic in me from an early age and have always believed in my potential, even when I faced setbacks. Their unwavering support and guidance have helped shape who I am today.

Additionally, my faith plays an essential role in my life. My belief and trust in God give me strength and perspective, especially in difficult times. This spiritual foundation encourages me to strive for excellence and maintain integrity in all aspects of my work.

Together, these influences have enriched my personal and professional life, providing a steady source of motivation and encouragement.
