We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian Fitzpatrick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brian, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I am a Christian Faith guy and I believe that we each were created for a divine purpose. Many people struggle in life because they never find that purpose. They find things that they are good, proficient, talented and skilled at but in the end they are left feeling like something is missing. In 2013, I lost my job of 21 years and if I am transparent I began to question my purpose. I had spent the formative years of my career pouring into youth, teens and parents and now here I was with the same question that I had helped so many on their own journey of discovery. I was praying one day and God took me to Romans 8:28 which says “ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD. TO THEM, THAT LOVE GOD AND ARE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE..”

This resonated with me for weeks it seemed and one day it hit me. Even difficulties, life events and set backs work to bring us into our divine purpose. I began to analyze the work I had done and I got the revelation that the roles that I had served in were preparing me for that moment. All through out my career to that point, I was the person that people came to for advice, to talk strategy, for what the bible calls “sound counsel.” and yes I was always heavily involved in the training and professional development of the teams I lead and even was a National Training Associate for a large youth serving organization. In that moment I realized that’s it, that’s what I am supposed to be doing. The words inspire, empower and encourage were written on a whiteboard in my home office and the scripture John 3:30 “I must decrease so that He can Increase.”

That’s where the name of my coaching and consulting business was born J330Life, LLC. At J330Life, we Inspire, Empower, and Encourage Transformation in life and business, through providing values based life coaching, leadership coaching, and professional development training. At that time in 2013 life was happening big time job loss, my only son was born 1lb 12oz at 26 weeks, health issues but despite all of that I knew I had a call on my life to do this. Since then I have been blessed with the opportunity to help build programs for non-profits, coach leaders, executives, facilitate countless personal and leadership development workshops in the corporate, non profit and ministry spaces. My motto is that “you can’t divorce growing as a leader, from growing as a person.” I find great joy being able to impart to individuals and groups of leaders from all walks of life. Whether they are leading as parents, in the workplace, on the athletic field or themselves. I know that nothing happens, is created, innovated, changed, or implemented without effective leadership. That’s why I do what I do.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a native of Columbus, GA, and is a Coach, Consultant and Trainer with a passion for seeing others reach their full potential, building leaders and facilitating workshops such as 3P Leadership, Building Highly Effective Work Teams, Conscience Conflict and more. I have extensive experience at the professional and senior leadership levels that focused on non-profit operations, program development and measurement, organizational capacity building, leadership development and coaching sales leaders. Brian holds several certifications related to the work I do:

Licensed Minister

Certified Life Coach

Certified Right Path Facilitator

Certified Trainer of Servants by Design

Certified Facilitator of Scream Free Parenting

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt

In his free time you can find Brian pursuing his other passion, in strength sports, still actively competing as a master’s division strongman athlete.

Through the course of my career journey I was the person that was ALWAYS told this is as high as you can go because of this reason or that. But God! I am a living witness that God opens doors that no man can shut.

All work has tools right. For me my main tool is the coaching strategy model I developed called RESET. RESET stands for Renew Your Vision, Eliminate Your Blocks, Simplify Your Actions, Embrace Your Changes and Target Your Impact. I use this model with individuals and teams to help people plan and execute on the goals they set. We have all been at a point in our lives where we wish we could simply hit the reset button.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I love food, and Columbus has a few places I would make sure we hit. Mabella’s, 11th and Bay and Neicey’s Barbecue. When we are not stuffing our faces with good food, zip lining, white water rafting are some must check out things to do along with the National Infantry Museum.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I got my first work leadership role at 21 years old. I didn’t know anything. There was a man by the name of Willie George Brown who pulled me to the side one day after a meeting where my emotions had gotten the best of me and said ‘that’s not the way.” From that day on he took me under his wing and the rest is history. He has been a friend, mentor, corrector and father figure in my life now for 28 years. I still talk to him and he is still encouraging me and “getting me together” when need be. The second person is Linda King. I call her my God Mother because she has been that and more in my life. I knew I should pray because of my upbringing but this lady taught me how to pray. There is nothing I do, decision that I make that I don’t take to God in prayer. J330 was birthed through and because of prayer. Now I often find myself praying for other entrepreneurs for their journey. Last but certainly not least my Pastor of the last 10 years Pastor Vincent E. Allen. I could say alot about him but I will narrow it down to simply this, he has taught me faith in a way that has changed my life forever. Because of that the way that I approach teaching, training, coaching and mentoring has been forever made better.
