We had the good fortune of connecting with Breana Loring and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Breana, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I wanted to use my hobby turned passion into something that brings people the same amount of joy that it brings me. Baked goods for most people hold something nostalgic and joyful; they bring comfort and peace. There is something soul soothing when I see someone truly enjoy one of my creations and that continuously gives me the drive and determination to keep pursing a creative career.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Baking has always been a form of self-care for me, but I didn’t want to eat it I just craved the process! I started baking really young when my Mom would host cookie decorating parties for my friends & I. Seeing how happy that made my friends probably unlocked a core desire that I would tap into later on. Fast forward to 2018 where I started a fairly stressful job and my baking increased but now I had people to give it to! When people started to ask me for specific items and people not even on my shift started to approach me,I knew I had unlocked something. If making a cookie makes me happy and it makes other people happy, why can’t I make even more people feel that way? Taking the leap of faith in my business was hard but doable. Taking the leap of faith in myself, that truly was the most challenging thing and still is. Believing that what I make is actually wanted, is still a struggle every day but proving that small voice wrong is always my goal.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I absolutely adore when my friends come into town to visit! If it’s baseball season we’re starting with a Braves game,I mean we are World champs after all! The Battery is one of my favorite places because it has so many options for everyone to eat and drink and you get to end the night with Jeni’s (salty caramel for the win)! There are so many fun classes in and around Atlanta that I would absolutely sign us up for, Vino Venue and Cooks Warehouse are my top two for sure! Then off to Smyrna for a little mid-week workout at F45 North Smyrna, best trainers around! The weather is getting nice so of course we have to go to Tin Lizzy’s, it’s an Atlanta staple and perfect margs! We’ll do brunch at Snooze one day and then brunch at Buttermilk kitchen the next because is there such a thing as too much brunch? Then of course we have to end with my favorite restaurant of all time, Iberian Pig-Buckhead. The food, the vibes, the drinks, the staff (Paulo is the best) I could not ask for a better place to bring my friends!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I truly don’t know where I would be without my parents! From cookie decorating parties with my Mom, to my first ever stand mixer, and my Dad always helping me clean the dishes up, thank you for the support always. To my best girls who have always been my faithful taste testers through college and beyond, thank you. Lastly, to my fiancé who gave me the push to pursue my dreams even in the face of uncertainty, thank you. Love y’all so much!
