We had the good fortune of connecting with Braylin Hardin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Braylin, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
When it’s all said and done and time to hang up the chef jacket, I want people to know I gave it all I had. Every single day. I gave blood, sweat and tears every time I step foot in the kitchen. To my mother, my grandmother and my future kids, everything I did I did for y’all. The long nights and early mornings, traveling and struggle will all pay off soon.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What separates me from others is that I’m willing to learn, I’m willing to take risk. I didn’t get to where I am today without taking risk. No the journey isn’t easy, but I swear it will be worth it at the end of the day. You’re going to have sleepless nights and days wanting to perfect something. Some of my biggest accomplishments is getting to put my cheesecakes in Darnell Ferguson restaurants the dripping crab and haunted house restaurant. I also have cooked for celebrities like Charlie Wilson,Nappy roots, Josh Rogers, and Boosie. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in this game is that everybody is not your friend or out for your best interest. I’ve been snaked a few times but you live and you learn. One of the quotes I love is from Eric Thomas. “WHEN YOU WANT TO SUCCEED AS BAD AS YOU WANT TO BREATHE, THEN YOU’LL BE SUCCESSFUL”.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother and grandmother are my back bones. When I was young my mother worked 3 jobs and went to school full time to take care of me.so I was always with my grandparents. My grandfather passed in 2010 and that really took a toll on me. Being a single parent is not easy and I want to be able to give her and my grandmother the world.
