We had the good fortune of connecting with Bradley Tramel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bradley, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I used to be apprehensive of risk, as most of us tend to be. I played life safely and spent a lot of time contingency planning if something went wrong. I would shrink from opportunities if the outcomes were too uncertain. Playing it save was evident in my work life, social life and spiritual life sadly. But I didn’t know how detrimental is was. Comfort is the enemy of progress and growth. I learned this deeply when I started growing fruits and veggies on my deck about 5 years ago now. So many life lessons can be learned from husbandry. But the real kicker was Hebrews 11:6 which states “But without faith, it is impossible to please Yah….”

So many things I committed in prayer but had backup plans for in case God didn’t answer the way I wanted Him too or if He didn’t move fast enough according to MY clock. Then, due to numerous self development literature and videos and reading the Word, I realized life is all about risk. Its risky getting up in the morning, leaving your house, meeting someone, new, etc. How can any of us survive constantly weighing options and methods? It leaves stagnant, complacent, and unfulfilled ultimately. Now, risk is exciting because I know Who has my back and that “all things work together for good…”. I’m released of any stress or anxiety in every area of my life… and its only getting better.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Its been a quite a journey opening up and exposing my creative nature. Its the personal element that I believe that is most like God. Our ability to see, think, and deliver things in such a unique way. Nobody else can do it like WE can do it, and we have to be confident in that. I am excited about my journey into voice over, public speaking and podcasting. I was brought up by a mother who was a speech pathologist who retired as a principal in a school for children with special needs. Because of this my creative side has always been best exposed through speech and communications. The journey hasn’t always been easy as I’ve dealt with imposter syndrome, depression, and anxiety.

My personality often allowed me to integrate with multiple social groups, but as a keen observist, I often picked up on the nuances of how people communicate with one another. What I didn’t realize was I was previewing, was the energy and vibration that each of us as individuals have. This sets the tone for how we communicate even though it can fluctuate. This observation has helped me immensely in how to develop as a communicator and how to assist others in improving also. This ability was a gift and a curse sometimes as I would sometimes shrink in certain circles due to the biases I knew they had. I would not be comfortable being my full self with fears of being misunderstood or ostracized.

This changed through self development, healing, meditation, prayer, and other character building practices. With this determination I became less of a “people pleaser” and stopped focusing on what other “MIGHT” say and on what God “SAID” that I already am. I AM that unique charismatic being who has been put here to serve others by releasing them from mental prisons with bars of fallacies and lies they’ve heard so long, they they believe they are true. I escaped and now its time to get my ‘Tubman’ on. But just as she faced, only those ready to go, can leave. My mission through Tonemasters is to expose the paths that liberate people from mental slavery themselves so that they know the way and lead others. Thus is the power of the testimony.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live right outside the nations Capital – Washington DC. Plenty of places to enjoy nightlife, recreation, historical sights, and eat GREAT food.

The national mall is always a hot tourist attraction with scooters running rampant lol. Its also just about to be Spring so the Cherry Blossom activities would certainly be a must to attend. The District Wharf is one of DC’s hottest attractions also as it sits waterside and hosts festivals and even has a large music venues in the Anthem and Union Stage.

Georgetown is upper echelon shopping and sights down by their waterfront next to the Potomac River. Views of Virginia and the Kennedy Center are sure to attract. There are many theaters to catch live performances such as the Lincoln, Ford, and Warner Theatres.

You can literally throw a rock and hit a good restaurant in DC. Such a diverse selection of cuisines and tastes that you can never try them all lol. If I’m trying to impress, I like hitting the Hamilton, Mastro’s Steakhouse, Old Ebbit Grille, Founding Farmers, and Le Diplomate. There are a few secret spots (maybe lol) that I like such as Jerk at Night (Jamaican), Wok n Roll (Chinese) and Oohhs and Aahhs (Soul food)… and all should hit Bens Chilli Bowl at least once.

For nightlife, DC has grown so much that some of the spots I knew of shut down during Covid but new ones sprung up. There are great places for hangouts such as lucky strike, F1 Arcade, Rocket Bar, Penn social and 5 iron golf to name a few. The MGM national harbor is also a hop, skip, and jump away from the city as well if you’re into gambling lol. All in all, of course the city has something for everyone so each night can be an adventure.
