We had the good fortune of connecting with BlkBrewBabes Ally & Shonna and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi BlkBrewBabes, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind our success and the success of our brand is relationships. Building relationships gives us the opportunity to make a more intimate impact while simultaneously growing our network organically.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community? Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
It’s not easy but there’s always knowledge to gain along the way. We want the world to know that the craft beer industry is very well indeed for women and not only for men. We want women, especially women of color, to enjoy craft beer and feel welcomed in any setting!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We have a few spots around the Atlanta area we’d take our friends. Encore: Hookah Lounge, Thrill: Korean BBQ and Bar, Mercedes Benz Stadium, Piedmont Park, Firemaker Brewery, Monday Night Garage, Le Petite Marché (black owned breakfast/brunch), Lagarde American Eatery (Cajun inspired), and HopStix (Atlanta Asian Fusion Brewpub). Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would love to give a huge shout out to @craftwomenconnect. They’ve created a community/safe space for women all over to commune through craft beer and other lifestyle professions. We were welcomed with open arms and have been able to meet so many beautiful women along the way through craft beer because of this group.
