We had the good fortune of connecting with Biased Jonny and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Biased, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve pursued a career in the musical and visual arts because that’s really all my heart wants to do. I am a business man at the end of the day, but I’ve never been passionate about anything other than the crafts that I specialize in. I’ve always wanted to help other creatives with their expressions, as well as push my own convictions through my art.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My name is Jonathan Fowlkes, I go by the stage name BiasedJonny in local/professional crowds. I’m a multi media artist with a specialty in music and photography. I honestly got to where I’m at now by just going where life takes me. Music has been the primary vehicle that led me toward photography and filmmaking. Its not all that easy but I’ve been privileged enough to have a great support system through my friends and family, which has helped me grow further. A primary lesson I’ve been learning is humility. Being humble paves the path that I walk, so its important that I’ve figured it out. The main thing I want the world to know is that I’m just like everyone else. Only difference is that I just love my art and I want to aid others to have them realize the same

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This might come off as lame, but I’m not a person who enjoys going to clubs so that’s out of the picture. But I def love going to local shows, though now places like Wonderoot, The Mammal Gallery, and The Bakery are closed down there’s still a great amount of venues. I love nature the most so Kennesaw Mountain, Red Top Mountain and Cloudland Canyon are beautiful spots. One primary place I’d go to eat is this spot called Loving Hut in Sandy Springs. One of my closest friends put me on last year and its great, fully vegan all handmade foods.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Primarily my friends ArcadiaTheDeliquent (Cameron Martin), RIPXL (Xavier Lee), Juan Pablo, HQTheGoat (Sean Moore) and the homies at GenjutsuATL. There’s absolutely a lot more people I can fit in but they’ve made some big impacts on my life that i’m extremely grateful for.
