We had the good fortune of connecting with Bella and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bella, how do you think about risk?
True leaders and entrepreneurs take risks. You have to take risks in order to get to where you want to be. For me, investing in myself, taking a loan out to take classes knowing that I was barely making it was a risk. After 7 months into my business, I took a risk and quit my 9 to 5 job that I had been working. I was so nervous because that was a big step! Again, 1 year and a half later, I took another risk and opened up Bella Dior Spa in a building. Throughout my business I’ve taken many risks and I’m sure i will take many more but it’s all for the betterment of myself and my business

Please tell us more about your business. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Let me start by saying that entrepreneurship is not easy by far! lol I’ve had Bella Dior for 3 years and it still is challenging. I guess the short version, I started out dancing, making fast money and then I got pregnant with my son. Reality kicked in! What are you going to do now? You can’t go to the club pregnant. I started taking little jobs from the temp agency to get by during my pregnancy, but of course this wasn’t enough money. When my son was born, it’s like my life just changed. I knew that that environment was going to hinder me and I didn’t want that energy on my son. So from then, I made a promise to never go back to the club, but what was I to do to get money? I was real deal struggling. I ended up getting a job in a office but I had acquired so much debt that I could never get ahead. I started researching things in the beauty industry and I knew that was my calling. But how was I going to pay for these classes? By the grace of God, I got approved for a loan and I was able to take the classes and I started Bella Dior, LLC. Of course in the beginning its rocky. You start thinking, did I waste my money, why don’t I have clients etc. But I remained consistent. I started out only working Saturdays so that I could work my office job during the week. About 7 months after me working I stepped out on faith and quit my job because I knew if I worked more days, I would have more clients. Since then I have been flourishing, and was able to open my very own spa, which has been operating for more than a year now. The best way to overcome challenges is to keep going. I knew that it was no stopping for me. Your business is what you make it. I absolutely love what I do, it’s not just about the money because I would do this same thing for free. I love making women feel good about themselves.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
OMG!!! I’m so boring lol! I rarely go out, I always have to ask somebody where to go when I go out. But I guess being that I’m a foodie I would go to some good food spots. For Bruch, definitely would take her to Barneys. The food is soooooooo good. Later I would have to hit up one of my quick faves I love love love Dantanna’s by lennox, I get the crab fingers and shrimp. I’m not really into clubs but I would definitely hit a lounge in buckhead that night. My spots are boring, now kid spots, I got you covered! lol

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If I had to dedicate my shoutout to anyone it would honestly be my son. If it would not been for him I wouldn’t have even started my business, or been where I am today. He truly has inspired me to continue pushing forward.
