We had the good fortune of connecting with Bahja Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bahja, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Back then my thought process was easy… “I gotta get from behind my desk job”…”I can’t be on someone else’s time”…”I want to work for myself”… Now it’s a bit different. The thought process is on “I gotta continue my business”… “I can become a legal business”…”I want others to work with me”…
My thought process has grown throughout Entrepreneurship.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My character sets me apart from others, I’m in a field where there are so many other talented people that my skills can’t touch. So I let my character differ me. I worked my way up professionally because I take time and do things right, I pay attention to detail. Little or big. It’s an intricate job so it wasn’t easy by a long shot. But I listened when criticized even when I thought others were wrong. Overcoming challenges you have to remain teachable in a game that always changes. Everyday is different with life take it as it goes, but set yourself up for a better outcome. Remain adaptable. Nailtrapchic is proof that you can start something from nothing.
Keep a look out for us in the upcoming year!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Definitely would hit one of my favorite places to eat, drink and hang out 4Thirteen Sports Lounge. Great vibes, Live music and great DJ, awesome menu and their drinks are top tier. Museum of Illusions is a must. Grab some tacos and ice cream from Food Truck Row at Klyde Warren Park. Maybe even take her mudding at an off road park. With us the options are limitless, but we’re getting old so we don’t do much either lol.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It takes a Village! I believe in that. I didn’t learn everything about business from one person and it wasn’t passed down to me. I learned strategic thinking, leadership, and skills from everyone. Too many to name and some would be surprised I still remembered what they taught me. You can learn from anyone and anything whether it be good or bad.
