We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Colon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

I have always had an entrepreneur mindset. It all started with me selling lashes when I was 17 years old. Now I’m 22 years old monetized on YouTube and building my hair business. I knew I wanted to have my own brand that will allow me to show case my creativity. I love being able to put my full thought into my products and taking control of my vision. Being my own boss is what I desire to be. I knew I wanted to work on my own time and work with a purpose.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is all about being fun and looking your best. I consider myself a beauty guru because I love hair, makeup, stylish clothing, and having a fresh set of acrylics. I wanted to do the stuff I love and expand my brand all around the world. What set me apart from others is that I go above and beyond when it comes to my work. I have extraordinary customer service, products, and a sweet personality. I love being communicative with my clients and making sure they are satisfied. I am most proud of starting an LLC, that was a huge accomplishment for me. I have always dwelled and held back on it, but at the beginning of 2022, I said to myself “it’s now or never.” I went and created it and now I’m a legit business owner. I got to where I am at by being consistent, it was hard but you just have to keep going. I found that watching YouTube videos on success and how other became successful helps me out a lot. Starting a business will never be easy, it was tough in the beginning, it’s hard to gain clientele but when you have a plan set and the drive, you are unstoppable and nothing can deter you from your destination. I want the world to know that I am fun, unique, and free-spirited. My brand is to make everyone feel their best about themselves. In this generation, it’s easy to get caught up on Instagram and compare yourself to others but when you break free from that mental space and invest in yourself, you wear your beauty with confidence.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I haven’t gone out a lot if you want me to be honest. I’m just now starting to get comfortable to be outdoors. During my pregnancy and after I had my daughter I didn’t have to confidence to be outside. I felt like I didn’t look my best. It’s going to be a year since I birth my child and I haven’t felt better about myself. I’m now going out more and spending quality time with those I love. I love hikes, parks, and brunch in the city. I’m still new to exploring.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a huge shoutout to the Lord, my mom and boyfriend. I just want to take the time to thank God for everything, he is my driving force in this all, I would not be here if it wasn’t for the man above. My mom has always seen me as a magnet for creative ideas. She never stopped believing me, even after hitting a rock on the road. When something doesn’t go as planned, she makes it her duty to tell me to never give up because great things take time. My boyfriend has been my backbone throughout this whole entrepreneur journey. He believed in me when I didn’t. He invested in me several times and I can’t thank him enough. I look at him every single day and know that I have a rider who will always be there for me through all my trials and tribulations. The power of someone believing in you can mentally and physically change your game.
