We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Carnage and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve always known I wanted to work for myself, even when I was working at the public defenders office I knew my plan was to gain experience to start my own business as a trial attorney. When the time actually came to make the move, I prepared myself to step into the ring of entrepreneurship.
What should our readers know about your business?
Ashley E. Carnage Law LLC is a criminal defense firm. The firm primarily represents Clients charged with low and high level felonies in Superior and Federal Courts. I believe what sets me a part from others is my ability to look at a case and observe what others may miss. I started at the Public Defenders Office in Valdosta, Ga where I gained my trial experience. It surely wasn’t easy considering when I arrived I felt as if it was either sink or swim. With the help of my colleague and dear friend Clarissa we navigated those waters together and I swam. Overcoming the challenges was part of the job as far as conflict resolution. I learned and grew during my time at the public defenders office. Learning how to be cordial in your negotiation and extending yourself grace when things don’t go your way. In 2020 I began working for The Late Steven B Kelley in private practice as Senior litigation attorney. After the passing of Steve I opened my own practice. What I want the world to know about my brand is that My firm wants the best outcome for our clients and we work hard to achieve those results.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely have to make our way down Moreland Ave to Corner Tavern. Their balsamic burger is undefeated.
A couple days during the week we’d have to treat them to some Cajun flavor. My boyfriend makes a mean red beans and rice.
The A Town wings on Bankhead is also a must
What will we have to drink?
Lemonade,
Sangria
Green tea shots
Places to go:
Concerts, Hawks game, Tea or Coffee Shop
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my Shoutout to my parents George & Beverly Carnage for your love and support. They introducing me to entrepreneurship and hard work. They encouraged me to keep going when I felt like I couldn’t. & I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to “Pat” thank you for loving me, your investment in my dreams, encouraging me to be the best, and thank you for your support as I take my leap of faith.
