Meet Arthur Nash | Artist & Toy Maker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Arthur Nash and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arthur, why did you pursue a creative career?
Art is something I am passionate about, have always done, and will always do. It brings me a sense of joy and I wanted to share that feeling with others. Whether it is supporters wearing or purchasing my art or other artists being inspired by my art. All of this inspires me to continue on this path.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was born and raised in Cleveland, MS. Always having the desire to create something new, I started painting shoes and t-shirts in 2003 while in high school. Throughout the years, I have continued to master my passion by creating quality pieces of work and expanding my craft. I specialize not is customizing shoes and making art toys, but I enjoy painting any medium in front of me.

My favorite quote is “Enjoy the Journey.” I define this quote as meaning to embrace and find joy in every step of the process and not to just focus on the end result. Enjoying the journey is appreciating the ups and downs and the challenges and victories because they all contribute to growth in life. It is a beautiful reminder to live in the present and make the most of every experience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend is my wife, so we’d start the day out with breakfast at a different spot everyday. Wherever french toast is served, lol. We love to shop, so one day has to be dedicated to buying clothes, shoes, accessories, and gifts for the boys. Another day has to be dedicated to relaxation. Which includes a spa day and lounging around in a hotel all day. Living in Los Angeles it’s a must we go see the Lakers play, if it’s basketball season. Before the game we’d go grab something to eat, like street tacos. Lastly, we do something artistic, like going to a museum or visiting this place in LA where you make your own custom shoes.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
