We had the good fortune of connecting with Arlene Stearns and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arlene, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Having a positive impact on lives makes me happy. As a personal brand stylist, I watch the professionals transform before my eyes! While working with me and experiencing the ImageUp System. they radiate confidence and a presence that distinguishes them as a noticeable leader. This usually results in greater compensation and/or profits which truly enhances their life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Imageup System is my second career that combines my love for teaching ,my desire to help others, and my artistic ability. Being an artist with college classes in design and color sets me apart from my competition. I love expressing myself by painting in water colors or oils and my work is currently in galleries. My program looks at the whole person from head to toe as well as their gifts and uniqueness. As a result, each individual radiates what I refer to as their zone of genius, No one has ever shopped their way to success. As a former educator, creating and running a business was a huge learning experience. I still attend business seminars and have participated in expensive business programs. My perseverance has paid off! I want others to discover their talents and gifts and explore ways to use them in their current business or possibly starting a new career that highlights them.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta has a lot to offer my best friend who loves beauty, the arts, and fine dining too. On Monday, we’ll be surrounded by whales, sharks, and every known fish at the aquarium, and then enjoy a late lunch at Rays on the River, known for fresh seafood. Next Dr. Roz, will give us a tour of the Martin Luther King Center and we’ll all dine at Mary Mac’s, famous for Southern home cooking Tuesday is a hike up Stone Mountain, a huge piece of granite with famous carvings of past presidents, for the incredible view. Later we’ll be amazed by the laser show as we taste the goodies in our picnic dinner. On Wednesday is reserved for shopping at the outlet mall on our way to Dahlonega, a quaint town nestled in the foothills and famous for the historic gold rush and nearby wineries. We’ll hold up our wine glasses and toast to our friendship and adventures. Eating at the Smith House is a must to sample Southern cooking family style. On Thursday, we’ll go to the exhibit at The High Museum of Art and stay for the free jazz concert followed by dinner at Pasta Da Pulcinella. On Friday , we’ll be walking in the Botanical Gardens showcasing works by Dale Chihuly among the gorgeous flowers and afterwards enjoy the outdoor concert and the glowing Atlanta skyline while sipping on cocktails and eating. On Saturday, we’ll head to the history museum and the Swan House giving us a glimpse of long ago. Afterwards, we’ll eat lunch the Swan House Restaurant and order the favorite that consists of chicken salad served in phyllo dough hearts, cheese straws, and a delectable frozen fruit salad that tastes like dessert. This restaurant caters to the Southern Belle with white table clothes, bud vases with roses , and a beautiful decor. There is also an art gallery and gift shop with home decor and women’s apparel. Sunday will be a day of rest, Church and a delightful brunch with a choice of bottomless mimosas. Sadly, my friend’s return flight is Monday late morning, so our driver will pick her up after breakfast and we’ll say our goodbyes.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A huge shout out goes to both my grand mother and mother who were major influencers in my career as a personal brand stylist/ image consultant. First, my grand mother was a fashionista before that word was ever coined. As the only grandchild she introduced me to 5th Ave and dressed me in style. I feel certain that she inspired my mom too.

As a photographic model in Manhattan in the late 1940’s my mother’s stunning presence turned heads when she entered a room. She instilled in me at an early age the importance of a polished personal presence to show that you valued yourself. Her four well-groomed and smartly dressed four children were her pride and joy! My wise mom knew the connection between looking and feeling good to move you forward in all aspects of life.

That’s why one of my mom’s greatest gifts to me was a make-over at Saks 5th Ave in Atlanta. I was so devastated about my impending divorce and becoming a single parent that she made a hair and make up appointment. I gave the stylist permission to cut my long hair that had the same through high school and college. It was a little scary, but I needed the change. When I looked into the mirror, I couldn’t believe my reflection! The student look had been transformed to that of a young professional! For the first time in quite a while, I felt like a million dollars! The difference was so dramatic that my mom did a double take before she recognized me! This experience was valuable in planting the seed in what I do now as a personal brand stylist. I want all my clients to look and feel like a million dollars so they can get paid that way! Thank you, mom, in Heaven for your guidance and support always.
