Meet Ariana Guzman & Linda Rosas: Tile Contractors & Installers

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ariana Guzman & Linda Rosas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ariana & Linda, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Initially, Linda and I worked for the same tile installation company when the idea of forming our own business came to us. We both were looking for a change, looking to grow and take on new challenges while getting away from a not-so-great working environment. We had been in the construction industry for just a few years, quickly learning, before we were at a point where we were both in leading positions, each managing our own projects and clients. Linda and I always worked hard, met deadlines, and made sure our clients were always satisfied, yet we both felt that our effort and work was never appreciated. We knew the true value of our work ethic and our product, and decided that no one would value it as much as we would ourselves, so that’s when we partnered together and formed Black Rose Tile & Stone. We wanted to start a company that truly focuses on providing clients with superior quality products and services, and not just on the profits.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Black Rose Tile & Stone is a tile installation company that specializes in the setting and design of tile and/or stone primarily in bathroom and kitchen remodels, as well in other various areas in both residential and commercial spaces. We take pride in being a women owned and operated entity in the construction industry. Being that it is still quite a male dominated field, it wasn’t always easy getting our foot in the door, we were constantly being underestimated, but we never let that discourage us, we let our work showcase what kind of quality we provide. Of course we’re not the only tile installation company in the area, there is definitely a quite amount of competition in our area of work, but we believe our attention to detail, creativity, and methods is what sets us apart from everyone else and is also what helped us get to where we are today. The construction industry can be unpredictable, as no job that we’ve ever taken on has ever been the same as the other, but with our experience over the years, we’ve been able to adapt to any challenge that’s thrown at us. We’ve made mistakes here and there, but we embrace them and make sure to always see them as lessons because there’s always room for improvement. Linda and I are always working on improving in whatever ways we can in order for us to provide the best quality service for our clients.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of our favorite spots to eat in the city are Savage Pizza, Vortex, and Budi’s Sushi, so we’d probably take our friends to one of those first. We’d also make sure to go to some of the local breweries, stroll through Piedmont, and check out the High Museum.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would definitely like to take the time to thank our families and friends for all of their support. The amount of support we’ve received from them since starting our business has been tremendous and we are truly grateful to be surrounded by their love and support. We’d also like to thank our colleagues in the construction industry that we work alongside with for their support, and for always believing in our work after all these years. And lastly, Linda and I would like to shoutout our clients. We have been very fortunate to work with such great clients all over the greater Atlanta area, and we literally would not be where we are today without them. We’d love to thank them for trusting and choosing us for their home renovations and projects, their appreciation for our work, and their endless support.
