We had the good fortune of connecting with April Nesmith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi April, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The name of my business is XAC Solutions. (Pronounced like the word exact but without the t lol). My business is named after my 3 children, Xavien, Autumn and Cameron. My entire thought process behind my business would be about my children. My plan is to create generational wealth for my family. Creating a line of income for generations to come. When I first started my business, I would reach out to people who were already successful in the industry, and I was ignored and even told “I’ll do it for you at wholesale prices so you can keep your customers”. But that wasn’t what I wanted. I wanted to learn myself as well. So with that being said I ALWAYS extend any help I can to other aspiring entrepreneurs, so that everyone doesn’t have to take the hard route I took when starting. It’s enough out here for us all to eat. I love to see my people grow and reaching new goals. So I will continue to do all that I can with any business venture I partake in to make sure success is reached by us all .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The road to success is NOT easy. Always invest into yourself. Take every opportunity you can to learn and continue to grow. Having a true support system is what kept me going. So many times I was ready to throw in the towel but small conversations with my brother and others that kept me going and not giving up. I strive to provide an excellent customer experience and give our customer XACtly what it is they want

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The city of Atlanta has lots of places to go for brunch and just to hang out. Some places we would definitely go would be BQE lounge, Ponce City Market, Triton Yards food truck park

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have a good friend who played a MAJOR part in me taking that leap to start my business. He is an entrepreneur of multiple businesses as well. The one sentence that made me jump into it was “come up with 3 names and just do it Ape”.. sticks with me to this day… Donnie I appreciate you…
