We had the good fortune of connecting with Antonio (Titan Uno) Dorsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Antonio (Titan Uno), what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
How can I grow? That was the biggest question I kept seeming to run into when it came to wanting to be better. The type of thinking I have is most often of me working towards simply being better, and me pursuing the business route is centered around that thought as well in that it helps me to be able to grow and learn a lot more through building and maintaining a successful business to become more independently efficient. The more we rely on outsourcing, the more we tend to have to depend on outside sources, which also means the less we have to do ourselves so the less we grow.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
First and foremost I am a rapper in every sense, but what makes me different from many rappers you may know is that I understand who I am and where I started enough to forever be, well, me. To get here I feel is the same steps to get anywhere successful in life, perseverance. Sometimes I had ups, other times I had downs, through both I always overcome them by having faith that I can do better and that I will be better no matter how far down things may go. On the other side, when things are going well it also takes some overcoming from time to time. When things are up, sometimes I might get a little complacent with how they are, but my need to be better at my craft or my memory of how down things can be at times keeps me striving not to ever get too comfortable. One lesson I learn everyday in new forms is that it’s a long life, and everything you want in life is there, but only if you go and find it. Another is that comfort is the enemy of progress. Lastly, I would love for the world to know that my brand, Ten Down, is one built on strong principals as well as higher standards, and will forever stand on that. To put things simply, we aren’t a brand that believes in sacrificing any of those principals or standards simply to move forward, we believe in climbing up the ladder.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If it’s a tour I would be the worst. I’m more of a party starter rather than a finder meaning the best times I could offer you wouldn’t depend at all on where we go or what we may do, but if it’s accompanied with those I usually remain close around, it will be one hell of a visit even if we simply went to take a ride on the ferry. Plus my home city is utterly amazing, even the fast food taste different in New Orleans.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
More than anything I give thanks to all the listeners, without you all’s ears I would have never found my voice so thank you. Also a huge thank you to all friends & family for never letting me quit even when those times of lost faith come around, and a big thank you to the universe because I’m forever in your fortune.
