We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Tomasko and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“There may be people who have more talent than you, but theres no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do.” – Derek Jeter

Work ethic is one tool that is vital to being able to succeed in any industry. When it comes to the creative space, networking and consistency are the biggest factors that can make or break your career.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
There are many challenges when it comes to the creative industry as a whole. Although you might hear from some that it is saturated, your work is unique to your point of view, just because one person might not appreciate, there are countless others who will.

The biggest challenge I had early on was networking. Some of your most profitable clients could come simply because you introduce yourself at another event you are working, or even a night out in the city.

My original plan coming into the productions industry was being able to stay close to the action on the field with sports, considering I was not able to play after various injuries.

Once I ventured out, I soon realized that my love and passion was within the music industry. The feeling of capturing artists in their element, the electricity of the crowd, and the emotions through out can not be duplicated.

Never let others doubt over power your drive to achieve what you want, the only way you will know if its possible is if you just go for it and don’t second guess yourself.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living in Charlotte, there are numerous activities and places to visit while in the city. Myself personally, will never turn down a Charlotte Hornets game or Knights baseball game. One place I always bring people to is called Rhino Market, a little convenient store/deli which has the best breakfast burrito around.

Another staple in the city is the Mint art museum in uptown. If you’re a creative of any kind, make sure to stop by for a great experience and inspiration.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I would like to give a special thanks and shoutout to DJ Problem out of Fayetteville, NC. We have worked together for roughly 2 years now and he has presented myself countless opportunities within the music industry, while helping push towards my goals.

Secondly, my brother/business partner Josh Wilson. After making a move to Charlotte, myself and Josh connected through work and not long after we started a business together. If I am ever in a creative slump or need a hand, I know he is one call away.

Lastly, I would like to thank Shamar Alan of Alan Lux Studios out of Concord, NC. Myself and Shamar met when Josh and I started our business, giving us insight into the industry we were entering helping every step of the way. From there, we have stayed connected and I’ve been honored to have worked along side his studio for various projects to date.
