We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Karros and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angela, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I contribute my success to multiple factors. It all started with a vision, goals, strategy, a great team and excepting that failure was not an option. My success is driven by motivation and determination. No matter what happened, I kept my end goal in sight and worked hard to overcome any and all obstacles that were thrown my way.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My practice is a Medical Spa that offers injectables, IV hydration, vitamin injections, weight loss medications, hormone replacement therapy, facials, skincare and makeup. We are a med spa with a lot of the same services that are offered by others but what sets us apart is our relationship with our clients. Often we are told how comfortable they feel discussing their aesthetic and weight loss goals with us. I am so excited and proud of the fact that I have been able to bring a service to my community that so many have had to travel miles to get. It was not easy getting my business where it is today. It took a lot of hard work, sacrifices, dedication and networking to get where we are today. There were many challenges along the way and the best way that I overcame those challenges was to prioritize and take them one step at a time. I have learned many lessons along the way with the most important being to not to be so hard on myself and to learn from mistakes. I am a first time business owner and with that came a lot of learning curves but I adjusted and moved forward. I contribute my path to success a lot to the relationships that I have built with other healthcare providers, business owners and other nurse injectors.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area, I would definitely take them to downtown Perry. It is labeled as the place where Georgia comes together. Downtown Perry is filled with locally owned and operated boutiques, restaurants, coffee shops and bars. The restaurants vary in their specialties from New Orleans style cuisine to southern comfort food. Depending on the time of year, there may be a festival with vendors and food trucks. We are also in close proximity to Warner Robins which is home to the largest Air Force Base in the state of Georgia. Robins Air Force Base has a museum that is open to the public that is rich in aviation history. Perry is also home to the Georgia National Fair which brings in visitors from all over the state. The fair would be a must if the visit took place in October.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have quite a few shoutouts. First, I would like to give a shoutout to my husband Matt Karros for loving, supporting and encouraging me to follow my dreams and continue my education. My second shoutout goes to my Medical Director Dr. Frederick Powell, for believing in me and being supportive of my vision. Last but certainly not least, I would like to give a shoutout to the AKA team of nurse practitioners/injectors that came on board with us and have continued to help drive the success of this business.
