Meet Andrea Leon | Owner & Florist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Leon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business was a decision I didn’t take lightly. It took several years of reflection, overcoming fear, and really asking myself why I was pursuing this path. The turning point came when I was reading Dr. Bob Schuchts’ Finding Hope & Healing in the Trials of Life. It made me realize that if I didn’t take the leap now, I might never do it.
One of my biggest challenges was understanding how my business could stand out in an industry that’s already filled with well-established florists. After much reflection, I came to the conclusion that my business could be different by focusing on serving my community with love, hope, and joy through the beauty of blooms.
My goal isn’t just to sell flowers but to create a space where people can feel good about their purchase—not just because it’s a beautiful product, but because it’s an investment in someone they care about. It’s about creating a community, making an impact, and building relationships. For me, it’s about more than just the transaction—it’s about how we make people feel.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My love for floristry truly began on my own wedding day. Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience with my florals, and I couldn’t understand how something so important could be treated with such carelessness. A wedding is such a special and memorable day, and it should never be taken lightly. That experience made me realize the need for a florist who truly cares about every detail and understands the significance of the day.
I’ve always believed that a business often begins as a result of a personal need or experience, and in my case, it was this negative experience that motivated me to do better for others. That’s why I put so much care, time, and attention into making sure that my brides and couples are 100% happy with how we bring their vision to life. My goal is to leave them mesmerized and overjoyed with their florals, and I believe this approach sets me apart.
Every wedding is deeply personal to me, which is why I don’t take on multiple weddings at once. When someone hires me, they get my team’s full, undivided attention. This allows me to focus on every detail and ensure that we execute the vision perfectly. This commitment is not only for weddings but extends to every arrangement I create for any special occasion. My goal is always the same: to leave my clients mesmerized and overjoyed by their florals.
Getting to where I am today has not been easy. As a new business, the challenge of establishing my name and gaining trust within the industry and community has been very real. The behind-the-scenes work—creating a website, managing social media, building relationships, and collaborating with other local businesses—requires late nights, long drives, and constant juggling between moments of discouragement and encouragement.
Along the way, I’ve had to overcome the imposter syndrome and learn to celebrate both the small and big wins. I’ve come to appreciate the process, trust the journey that is uniquely mine, and find inspiration in those around me. It’s been a rewarding experience, and I’m proud of the progress I’ve made so far.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I moved from California four years ago, and while I’ve always enjoyed the great weather and coastal scenery, I felt a strong pull towards the natural beauty of Georgia. I truly appreciate being surrounded by nature, whether it’s going on hikes that lead me to serene lakes, rivers, or waterfalls. North Georgia, in particular, offers such breathtaking trails that provide a quick escape for rejuvenation.
I also love exploring Georgia’s wine country. One of my favorite spots is Montaluce Winery in Dahlonega. Their Sunday brunch is delicious—especially their blueberry pancakes, which are absolutely amazing. The combination of great nature and local experiences like that makes Georgia feel like home to me.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m incredibly grateful to my husband and children for joining me on this journey and for believing in me. It truly takes a team effort to make a vision come to life, and their support means everything to me. I’m also thankful for my mother’s unwavering encouragement and for my sister, who has been a huge pillar of support throughout this endeavor.
Above all, I am deeply thankful to God for the opportunity to work with such wonderful people in my community. The connections I’ve made and the support I’ve received have been invaluable, and I feel truly blessed to be able to serve others through my business.
