We had the good fortune of connecting with Andre Manga and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andre, how do you think about risk?
I love taking risks ! I mean I feel like if I don’t take risks, I’ve already fallen. There have been times I had to make difficult decisions, and there were risks involved. I followed my instincts, and took chances. I can say it paid off. I believe that success is built upon taking risks.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I definitely had to jump a few hoops, to get here. The music business is very challenging, and unless one is determined, it can drop you very quick. I’ve learned to be stubbornly focused. To become a professional, I had to put in hours and hours of practice, and learning. I’m very proud of the collaborations I had so far, none of it would have happened without a struck code of practice.
I love to learn. Music is life. Music is my life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is a great city, and have a lot to offer. The music scene is unbelievable. The one place though I know has great music , a cool hangout is The Velvet Note , à jazz alley in Alpharetta.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Besides the support of my parents, I was mentored by a music superstar who discovered me. His name is Manu Dibango. Though he passed away 2 years ago due to covid, his mentorship has led me to be the musician I am today.
