We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber J and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amber, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks is a building block to success. Throughout my years of entrepreneurship I have been blessed to encounter some amazing and successful people who all have stressed the importance of “taking risks”. They taught me to change the narrative of taking a risk as a negative thing and to view it as an experiment that you are testing to solve a problem. As we all remember from science class we mixed various elements together and got different reactions. Having a brand is similar. There is no one way to get the desired result. We must continue to find what works for us. We mix marketing, messaging, events and other elements to hopefully get our desired outcome. In my mind we are not taking risks but experimenting lol. And of course we still must plan strategically before just mixing things together so we don’t blow up lol ( or get overwhelmed). But taking risks is necessary to experience real success. Risks have made me stronger mentally by learning how to control my perspective of my situations. That, to me, is the key to success. Having a mindset that is unbreakable.
What should our readers know about your business?
BrandFelt Activation was a gift from God that I didn’t know I needed. I agreed to help a friend put on her Christian Women’s retreat not knowing this one moment would change the directory of my life. My friend had a vision of helping Christian, entrepreneurial women excel through a unique retreat experience but needed the support to help execute. I had the ability to help her in more ways than one and thus BrandFelt Activation was born. I remember the phone calls and late nights to ensure everything was branded perfectly. From that day on I sought out to help small business get their brand felt ( hence the name BrandFelt Activation) in a unique memorable way and live out their vision. What sets me apart from others is that I want to understand the story behind the brand then transform that into a unique signature event. I do not refer to people as clients but as partners. Together we can build an event that tells a story and scales your brand. Now, this journey has not been all dollar signs and fancy trips. I had to work! My biggest challenge so far was self confidence. It took me about two years to fully tap into my full potential and activate it. I was that person that always had ideas popping in my head left and right but no true execution plan. Why? Because I feared judgement and ” doing it wrong”. In my opinion, once you have a solid mindset that you are capable of making a way it makes situations a tad bit easier. I am not saying it will be easy but it helps to make those difficult executive decisions we have to make as owners. A solid mindset will allow you to create opportunities and go for things bigger than you’ve dreamed without having to have approval from others. If I was asked ” what should I know about you and your brand ?” I would reply ” I am a real person with a God-given talent to activate your brand”. BrandFelt Activation specializes in driving brand awareness and loyalty through branded experiences with campaign development, event marketing, and sponsorship consulting. We cater to the small business owners as we understand the purpose behind the passion and will do whatever it takes to get your BrandFelt.
