We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Threatt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Every decision or choice you make in your life is a risk because you may not always know the outcome. 2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight”. Some choices are very simple to make. There are also choices that require a lot of thought, research, and prayer. In my experience, the more challenging risks have been the most rewarding and have required the most faith. How would you ever know what you were capable of if you didn’t take risks. I took a risk on a man who is now my husband, moved to a new state, started an entirely new career, and my own business. If I had not taken any of those risks, I would never have known that I was capable of helping people make one of the biggest and most important investments in their life, real estate.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Every deal is different and it’s not always easy, but it is one of the most gratifying careers you could have. There are tens of thousands of Agents in Georgia, so I always feel extremely honored when someone chooses me to represent them. I have always had a desire to help people, so to find out that I could do that through real estate was a dream come true. I offer buyer and seller representation in Metro Atlanta for residential purchases and investors. My husband works in the film industry and I understand their un-structured work schedule more than any, so I have been able to help quite a few in that industry. I believe to be successful in business, its not what you know, but who you know. I have created an extensive network of highly regarded and successful partners to help my clients fulfill their real estate needs. In an ever changing field like real estate, it is so important that you are open-minded to change and have the ability to adapt to it. Social Media is a powerful tool and I recognize the ability it has to help my clients, buying or selling. That is what makes me different, along with my determination and resilient work ethic. I have had much success and I have also had failures. I have learned from my failures and I have now been blessed to be able to share my knowledge with others professionally. I love what I do and am grateful for every single opportunity I have been given.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many amazing places to visit in Atlanta. Ponce City Market for some shopping and then the Rooftop at Hotel Clermont. You can’t go to Atlanta without going to a Braves game and The Battery. Felinni’s has the biggest and best slices of pizza so that’s a must. Take a drive through Druid Hills to look at the beautiful, historic homes and visit Piedmont Park for the views. The Aquarium and Botanical garden are so much fun. I’d have to add something film related of course, so a film tour would be that list.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God first, then my husband. My husband is my biggest supporter and one of the hardest working people I have ever met in my life. He pushes me when I need to be pushed. Sometimes I think he believes in my ability more than I do myself. He encouraged me to practice Real Estate because he saw something in me that I didn’t at the time. My husband works in the film industry, so he works long hours, but he always makes sure that his family gets every bit of the time he has at home and that my business has everything it needs to be successful.
