We had the good fortune of connecting with Alisha Hurt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alisha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Ready Set Boutique was started by a stay at home mother of two boys, my thought process behind starting my own business was freedom and work life balance, before I became a stay at home mother I did have a 9-5 and I knew I was not going to be able to raise my kids and go back to a full-time job. My husband having a business of his own really opened my eyes to being an entrepreneur. I started this business with the mind set that I would still be able to raise my kids while also doing a job that I loved. I would also have something for myself that was bringing in income.

What should our readers know about your business?
Ready Set Boutique is an online boutique for busy women who value their time. This boutique was born after I had my second child and time for myself was non- existent. I wanted to dress cute but never had the time to shop. We offer women’s matching sets for any and every occasion. I am most proud of stepping out of my comfort zone and launching my boutique in the midst of a pandemic, I am also proud of myself for continuing to run this boutique successfully while being a full time mother of a 2 and 3 year old. On November 22,2021 I will have been in business for one year and my vision for Ready Set Boutique gets bigger by the day, at times it is overwhelming but, I refuse to give up. In my past I have worked a couple of retail jobs but, I have always had a passion for shopping and styling, when I decided to launch this boutique I was not very business savvy and did not even know where and how to start. I began my research with other boutique owners and of course YouTube. Every resource that you need to be successful is right there you just have to study and want to be successful. There is still so much that I continue to learn in the boutique business, I am always watching or reading something boutique related to grow. Getting to where I am now was not easy but the key is to never stop learning, once you stop learning you slowly lose your passion. One lesson that I go by and that every business should follow is everyones journey is different, don’t look at what everyone else is doing , how fast they got there, or how they did it, create your own story and eventually you will get to where you want to be. The main thing I want everyone to know about Ready Set Boutique brand is that we are here to make busy women especially mothers shopping days easier while still keeping you confident and cute. Every set is carefully selected to ensure quality and style. It’s time to stop stressing over picking out an outfit and shop Ready Set Boutique.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitly go to Piedmont Park/ Park Tavern and Ponce City Market both of those places have a really amazing vibe and really great drinks and food options. I am a very big foodie so we would for sure visit some awesome restaurants such as Bar Taco which has great fresh tacos and rice bowl options or Barcelona which has the most amazing tapas . We might visit the Georgia Aquarium or the Coca Cola factory if they were interested but Atlanta is so much more than those two attractions. Lastly, my friend is not leaving with out a bomb karaoke night at FamFam Private karaoke.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this shoutout to my husband and my family. There would not be a Ready Set Boutique with out my husband. As a business owner himself, he motivated me to start a business of my own, something that I knew I would love to do for a career and still be able raise our two amazing sons. He is there whenever I have questions or need any kind of help with my business. I also dedicate this shoutout to my Mom, Dad, Sisters and Brother, each one of them have played some part in my boutique journey, whether it was taking pictures, creating my website, reading over my mission statement a million times, or advertising, Ready Set Boutique would not be here with each and every one of them. My husband and my family are why I work extra hard to grow this boutique to its fullest potential. I also like to dedicate this shoutout to my children they are the motivation I need daily to keep going and not give up.
