We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Marie Music and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis Marie Music, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thoughts were, “I have to do it.” Although following my dreams of becoming a musician created a whole new level of entrepreneurship, destiny called. I answered.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As an artist, I am proud that 100% of my art is my own, it is written, directed, and produced by me so I’m able to bring my creativity all the way through. Not to mention, I’m doing so independently.

The biggest challenge for me has been getting out of my own.

The Alexis Marie Music brand is about connecting with people through music.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The Gathering Spot, in Atlanta is one of my favorite places to go. I get a lot of inspiration from the city, it is so beautiful! I enjoy driving through exploring new places when I need to be inspired it helps me to create a lot of my songs.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would have to give a shoutout to my biggest supporter, my mother, I love you Bicki Johnson! Her strength, confidence, survival skills, and life lessons all played a major role in who I am today. She taught me one of the greatest lessons that allow me to purse my dreams and that is you can be whatever or whoever you want as long as you have the confidence to do so.
