We had the good fortune of connecting with Ainsley Jacobs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ainsley, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I originally grew up in New York, just outside of the City, and learned the value of hard work at an early age. My family didn’t have much, and I started working after school when I was just 12 years old so that I could earn my own money. I remember helping with the monthly bills and budgeting, and knew that if I wanted to avoid struggling financially the rest of my life, that it would take a solid mindset and relentless determinaton. I continued to work all through high school and college, paying my way to make it happen. After graduating, I worked two full-time jobs and a part-time job for five years so that I could pay off my $100,000+ student loan debt. That hardcore hustle became “normal” for me, and, now that I’m debt-free, I keep up that same pace and drive with my businesses – it’s a tactic that has served me very well and helped get me to where I am today!

What should our readers know about your business?
I officially founded P.TEN Marketing, named after the chassis code (P10) of my very first car, in 2012 after having worked as a freelancer for many years. By focusing on motorsports marketing and the automotive industry, I have created a career for myself that enables me to do what I’m good at, in an industry I love, with people I respect, and I am so grateful every day that I was able to use my talents and skills to grow a business. It hasn’t always been easy, and sometimes I worry about being able to find enough work to sustain not only myself but the careers of my team, but I am proud that my reputation within the industry is strong enough to keep things growing year over year – all based on word of mouth and referrals/recommendations. P.TEN offers marketing services, social media management, graphic design, website development, corporate communications, content creation, journalism services, and so much more – all tailored specifically to the high-performance racing and automotive niche segments with an emphasis on professional drag racing.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would tailor the visit to the friend’s personality, of course! But… I love excitement so I would try to keep things interesting by giving them a riding lesson on my horse, taking them to the gun range to teach them to shoot (safety first, of course!), visiting the local race track and maybe making a few laps, then grabbing dinner at one of my favorite Korean BBQ or Thai restaurants around town.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When I was 19 years old, I took a chance and sent a pile of resumes out to a bunch of automotive industry companies that I wanted to work for. Tracie Parker took a chance on me and created a position at Garrett Turbochargers (a Honeywell-owned company at the time) which wound up being the start of my motorsports marketing career. I am incredibly grateful to her for giving a young, inexperienced girl a chance and her mentorship impacted my life tremendously.
