We had the good fortune of connecting with Aharown Sparrow and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aharown, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
What makes me happy is seeing the joy I am able to bring people through music. Music is one thing that brings people together, and I believe there is so much beauty in that.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The thing that sets my DJing apart from others is how I mix my music. Anyone who has heard a transition of mine is often amazed because of how intricately I weave in the next song. Getting to where I am now was definitely not easy, I used to dj for free because nobody knew who I was and I was trying to get my name out there, so you have to roll with the punches when getting started. Very rarely do people have the world handed to them from the get go when venturing out alone. Honestly it’s the hardships that make the destination that much sweeter, from Djing in dorms to Djing in Spain, you need everything in between to teach you how to navigate every crowd. If there’s one thing that my journey has taught me is patience and perseverance, like I said nothing is given to you but you have GOT to make every single event and opportunity count. You have to show these people exactly why YOU deserve to be here above everybody else, be early, be prepared, stay late, put in the extra hours. You’ve got to do it all and then some. And that’s what my brand is, and who I am. I am Dj Aha Da AmAzInG. The best DJ doing it and soon the whole world will know.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Normally when my friends come to visit, they’re looking to eat and drink. We may see a few sites— the botanical garden, the Ferris wheel, maybe a waterfall depending on the time of year. However food and great drinks are the main priority. Seafood and brunch spots are our favorite. Krab Queenz is great if you want an upbeat and I Dj there so of course it’s always lit! Juicy Crab for lunch or dinner to carry out. Atlantis is one of my favorite day party brunch places. I love Ms Icey’s as well. For a good happy hour we’d normally go to Encore on a Friday night or Saturday evening. I also make it a point to take everyone to get tacos from Mama’s Cocina Latina when they visit.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely, I have a very close knit circle of friends that spoke nothing but blessings in my life even when I was completely ready to throw in the towel. I wanna thank my best friend Simon and his mother Avis for always praying for me to be successful and happy. My friend Guy who has always kept it real even when no one else around me would. And I want to thank my friend Andre Jairam for always reminding me we can always reach higher.
