Meet A.Lola Bethea | Mortuary Cosmetics Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with A.Lola Bethea and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi A.Lola, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I am passionate about pursuing excellence, creativity, and financial success with uncompromising services and integrity, so I have decided to start my own retail e-commerce business. I’m in the industry to make a positive mark. I ensure that I abide by the rules and regulations of the funeral industry. My customers and potential customers can rest assured that they will get quality products and services at competitive rates.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am one of the industry leaders in mortuary cosmetics with nationwide distribution, decades full of happy customers, with a complete catalog and ebook. I created and formulated mortuary cosmetics for the deceased only. My products are prepared for the dead that suffers discoloration from blood drainage after the embalming phase; as we know, many may have jaundice, melasma, bruising, severe dehydration, or need skin restoration. Over these years, I have learned extensively about the death care industry, funeral directors’ needs, and all the various suppliers to the industry. It took a few years, 2013-2016, to get the correct formula and consistency for all skin types. I’m a cosmetic professional with over 20 years of experience managing different cosmetic brands under Estee Lauder. My extensive background in Biology, Chemistry, and Mortuary Science has given her a distinct understanding and a keen eye, or “eagle” eye as she’s been told, when it comes to color and concepts for the deceased. As a true art lover, I’m passionate about the service provided and will always continue to build upon the foundation that has been established. I’m a “forever student” and will never stop educating myself and obtaining knowledge through many facets. I maintain positive strides toward giving her clients a beautiful lasting impression of their loved ones.
