We had the good fortune of connecting with 1008 Brick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi 1008 Brick, what role has risk played in your life or career?
A risk is nothing but a link to success. Risk is all about what you’re willing to give up/potentially lose, in order to obtain a goal; And or whatever else you’re going for.

Taking risks has helped me grow as a man, and as a person in general. You start to learn what’s worth the risk, and what’s not worth it. You have to take risks to be successful. Win or lose, because a winner is just a loser who tried one more time…

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My music is for the hustlers, that love R&B. Of course you have to be from around the way to feel what I’m saying. I got where I’m at in life, by consistency. Staying down until they come up. Grinding non stop , and still grinding. This don’t stop. It ain’t easy, and it ain’t gone get easy. Despite how one may make it look. The challenges are going to come, but you just have to stay focused. I understood where I wanted to go, and who i want to be. Do I remain focus, to make sure nothing is going to stop it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m more of a strip club guy. We gone club hop and hit different clubs. Whenever I go out to the city, or another city that’s probably where I’m at.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I gotta give up for the most high for how far I’ve came .. but I want to shoutout all my supporters. Family and fans. Shoutout to the OYL camp. I really wouldn’t be this far without OYL. My engineers for the long nights , and road trips.
