How do you think about work-life balance?

By far the most common conversation we have with the folks we interview is about work-life balance. Starting a business or pursuing a creative career makes finding work life balance really tough because there is no clear start and end to one’s work day. My approach to work/life balance has made a complete one-eighty over the years, and sleep has been one of the biggest factors in that change. I always enjoyed the rush of meeting goals and getting things done even if it meant working nonstop, but as a result I had very little time or energy left after work to be fully present and engaged in other activities. I’m a VFX artist specializing in films, TV series, commercials, and other media. While some of my projects, such as commercials and certain TV series, often demand shorter production timelines and overtime, film projects follow a more extended schedule with higher demands.
