One of the most rewarding things about getting to know so many entrepreneurs is seeing first-hand how many of them are focused on so much more than just financial results. So many of the folks we connect with are focused on having a positive social impact on their community or the world at large. Check out some of these amazing folks below.

Liz LeGrande | The Global Village Initiative – Founder & Executive Director

The Global Village Initiative, creates life-defining assemblies and support networks by world renowned artists, public figures and academics for children attending underfunded middle & high schools in the USA. Our schools of focus are: middle & high schools, special education (ADA compliant), The Juvenile Justice System & Secondary Schools. As each child is honored, we cultivate connections based on mutuality, respect and support, bringing together a greater circle of community based on core values and common purpose. We create cohesive units of family and friends as chosen family to support greater good for each student. We are at a critical crossroads, this time in history affects people of every culture, gender, socioeconomic class, religion, age, and nationality. The choices each one of us make every day, and the decisions we collectively agree to, influence and create the legacy for future generations. Read more>>

Daniel Mobley and Sarah Jackson | Co-Founders of Thyme to Party & Gardening Enthusiasts

When most people think of gardening, they typically think of their grandparent’s garden. We think of our grandparents because they are really the last generation to view growing food as a means of padding the budget and as a means of security. However, times have changed since the era of the great depression (though the similarities seem to have increased over the past few months), and so have people’s reasoning for gardening. Jacqueline Sanders-Blackamn | Children’s Author, STEM & Diversity Advocate

Initially, when I created Expresso Kids /STEAM Makers Publishing, my intention was to create a series of children’s books focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEM) topics with the leading characters being kids of color. The primary goal was for children of color to see images that represented their potential and to inspire them. However, the overall vision is much bigger than that, I believe books that contain children of color should be read by ALL children. The people who are marginalized cannot be the only ones who can see a future where diversity is the new norm. Today, the mission of Expresso Kids Friends and Family series of books is to “leverage the common need for people to learn STE(A)M and at the same time tap into the common good of people to embrace diversity, equality, inclusion and belonging. We want to make STEAM and Diversity a universal, cultural aptitude and not just used as buzzwords. Read more>>
