Are you a risk taker? Do you think you have a stronger appetite for risk relative to your friends and family? We asked some folks from the community about their approaches to risk and have shared their thoughts below.
For me, taking risks has always been easy. I think this has a lot to do with my personality, but overall, without risk, there’s no reward. Throughout my career, I’ve taken risks countless times, but I don’t really view them as risks because I’m confident in what I want to do. Risk is inherent with any business endeavor; if you are not willing to (literally!) lay everything on the line, then embarking on a business venture is absolutely not for you! I have always been willing to pursue business endeavors full throttle because I truly believe in my dreams & ideas, and I carefully curate a roadmap to success. Taking Risk has gotten me this far today! If I would have never took a risk, I wouldn’t have never new what I was capable of!! I resigned from a government job (guaranteed salary) for the unknown! 6 years later , I’m still standing!!! Sometimes you have to BET on yourself!!!! Taking risks has always been a major driving force in my life. Every decision I make involves some level of risk, but I’ve never shied away from diving into new experiences or exploring unfamiliar territory. I believe that stepping outside of my comfort zone is where the real growth happens. If I had chosen to play it safe, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Each risk has brought valuable lessons, opened doors to new opportunities, and helped me become the person I am. I think life in general is about taking risks, if we don’t do that we would never know what wouldn’t happened and I personally have a huge fear of losing out in new adventures and experiences. I don’t like to be in my comfort zone, I like to live a fun life doing what I want and love. Taking risks is a challenge and has it’s consequences which could be good or bad, but I have always taken the positive side of every decision and situation I been through so I have never regretted any decision I made in my life because has benefited me in many ways and areas of my life.
