We had the good fortune of connecting with Auburn Randolph and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Auburn, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
Originally from Hahira, a small town in South Georgia, I am the youngest of three siblings raised in a single parent household. I like to believe that my childhood taught me alot about resilience. My childhood made me want more out of life.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a family and personal branding photographer committed to helping women create memories with beautiful images in their current season of motherhood and entrepreneurship. I offer family portraits, personal brand sessions, and headshot sessions. I fell in love with photography just after my daughter was born—she’s SIX now! I started out because I wanted to create memories that she would be able to share with her own kids and grands one day. As a single mother at that time, I couldn’t afford to have images professional taken so I got my own camera! Since I am a creative at heart, I kept telling myself that it can’t be that hard but the lie detector quickly determined that wasn’t true. With the help of my extremely talented friend Kim, and my enrollment into YouTube University, I started to hone in my skills. I’ve since studied under other amazing women in the photography industry.

Two years ago, I had a crazy thought… what if I was good enough to share this gift with the world?! So I did. It’s been a crazy experience for sure, turning my then hobby, into a small business. The road has not been easy but I wouldn’t change a thing!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Since I am definitely the outdoorsy type, I would suggest starting the week off right with a hike up the beautiful Stone Mountain Park. Then we would head downtown to enjoy an amazing dinner at 2 Urban Licks. We would definitely have to check out both the Civil Rights & Madame CJ Walker Museums.

Now if you are as laid back as me, packing up for a relaxing picnic in Piedmont Park would be the perfect ending to an amazing week in the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I definitely have my own set of “guardian angels”, people who have helped me through my journey, without them I would not be where I am today. I would like to thank my wife Stacy and our daughter Leah. They are my favorite people and my biggest supporters. I’d like to give a special shout out to my mentor (turned friend) Kim. She took me under her wing without pause and taught me everything I know about photography.
