We had the good fortune of connecting with Jackie Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jackie, what do you attribute your success to?
Authenticity. Our business, Jubilance Juice, was developed almost by happenstance. I’m an active duty military soldier, so health and nutrition are a consistent part of my regular routines. I’ve meal prepped and juiced for my family for years because I believe when you feel good on the inside, you look good and perform well on the outside. Being surrounded by soldiers at work each day, they noticed the various blends I was drinking and began to ask questions. So, of course, I shared my juice with them! A sample here and there turned into requests to place their own orders. What began with 12-20 bottles each week for my close co-workers turned into requests of 200-300 as they began to share their experiences and word of our product and its quality spread. From there, we began to develop our brand, design our website, and share our vision with the world beyond our close friends and family. On average, we serve between 800-1,200 bottles of juice with our customers monthly. Ultimately, our goal is to open an organic juice and wellness bar in the Atlanta area. For now, we’ll continue our mobile journey of sharing our joy with the world…one juice at a time.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Outside of my work with Jubilance Juice, I am an active duty military soldier, serving proudly in the United States Army. Prior to joining the military, I worked in education for almost 10 years. I started as a classroom teacher, developed and began serving as a mentor, and ultimately culminated my educational career as an elementary school administrator and adjunct professor at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA. People are my passion. I love teaching, learning, and outreach, especially in urban communities. I desire to forge all of my passions in the development of our juice and wellness bar, where we’ll offer classes on holistic health and wellness, juicing demos and private lessons, as well as a variety of fresh products including juice, smoothies, salads, toasts, and wraps. We’re going to create a safe space where people of all ages can come to recharge their minds, bodies, and souls while enjoying a dose of Jubilance.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My friend is in town for the weekend! On Friday night, we’re enjoying a late dinner and drinks at D92, the best Korean Bar-B-Q around. On Saturday morning, we start our day with a quick jog, refresh ourselves, and make our way to brunch at Milk & Honey. We’re dolled up and wanting to remember her first trip to town, so we head to the Atlanta Selfie Museum to snap the afternoon away. I’ve teamed up with my friends at Elevated Picnics to plan a surprise evening in the park with everything from the food, to the drinks, and decor provided and setup for us upon arrival. It’s only right that we end the night with dessert at Batter Cookie Dough Counter in the Ponce City Market. I mean, c’mon…who doesn’t love cookie dough!? We’re rounding out the weekend with brunch at Doughnut Dollies, a morning walk and talk session in the park, and lunch at the Beacon for a dose of our favorite ramen bowls in town. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God gives me the strength, while my family and close friends help to make my business dreams a reality. My Wife is the Creative Director behind all things Jubilance. Her vision and creativity helped to develop our brand almost overnight. Her continuous work helps create continuity within our brand, while allowing our products to stand out to our clients. My parents and sister have been my greatest supporters since day one. From sampling our blends and offering feedback, to helping us perfect the details of safe shipping, we couldn’t do it without them. Lastly, some of our closest friends, Carmen & Natalie, David & Jessica, Nicole & Jason, and Mrs. Stacy Pulliam, their support is endless and they’ve helped us to expand our network exponentially. Our thanks to them is endless and we are so excited to have them on our journey as we continue to expand.
