Meet Tim R. McAdams: Enrichment Speaker & Actor/Stuntman

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tim R. McAdams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tim R., what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk taking is a built in component of success in my opinion. The achievement of our true desires is going to require unrelenting action and an acceptance of the inherit risk that comes with aggressive action. In order to achieve great success in any ambition it requires that we stretch ourselves past our comfort zone. Our comfort zone will only afford us the life/career that we currently have. However, once we stretch past that comfort zone we then position ourselves to unfold the beautiful progress that lies in the un-chartered territory of our potential. When we travel into this un-chartered territory that lies beyond our comfort zone we enter into the risk zone. The risk zone is a place where the possibility of failure, uncertainty, confusion, and lack of definite direction are found. None of these feelings are exciting but they are all present when taking risk. Most great accomplishments were preceded by these feelings and thoughts. On the other side of the risk zone is the reward zone. For those of us that are willing to travel out of our comfort zone into the risk zone, we eventually get to enjoy the benefits of the reward zone. We must be willing to embrace all of the undesirable things that come with the risk zone so that we can rejoice in the reward zone! Risk taking is a must in order for us to accomplish new levels of success!

Risk taking is continually playing a role in my life/career. As I reflect, every major accomplishment in my life/career was achieved after committing to moves that entailed great risk but greater reward. Even within my career as a Stunt Professional the inherit risk of the job is clear and accepted on every gig. Though, I am a huge believer in risk taking, I have found that calculated/educated risk taking has served me best. Taking time to think through a vision and create a plan before engaging has allowed me to maneuver through decisions and be confident. Educating myself on the risk/reward proposition and having a general understanding of what I am entering into has also assisted in allowing me to take risk while maintaining some control over my movements. At the end of the day the aggressive moves I have made in my life have all had the chance of going bad but with taking a little time to think, plan and anticipate the consequences I have been able to make effective decisions and continue to grow even through the failing moments!

What should our readers know about your business?
I am truly thankful to say that my business is also my assignment in life. After a long journey I realized that my assignment in life was to Enrich the lives of others. Thus me starting our professional speaking and consulting company. After spending over 26 years in sales, leadership and business ownership it became very clear to me that my passion was, not as much working with a product or service, but more so with working with the people. I found that I had such an overwhelming joy from assisting people in becoming better personally and professionally. I realized from the feedback of the people as well as the feeling deep inside of me that I needed to be dedicating my life to the journey of developing people.

I take great pride in the fact that I’ve been able to develop a unique style to my speaking, consulting, mentoring and coaching. This has allowed me to connect with people in an impactful way. The combination of being a performing artist my entire life, combined with over 26 years of overall business experience provides me with a unique opportunity to not only educate my listeners but also keep them heavily engaged by utilizing the skills acquired from years of performing. I love the reward of assisting people in becoming the best version of themselves. I also find great reward in assisting businesses in building better structures, culture and improving their bottom line.

It is very clear to me now that my lifelong calling will be to enrich the lives of others. The journey to arrive at this clarity was not an easy one. I truly don’t believe that what we are destined to do will come together easily. That is why it is so important to identify your purpose, understand your assignment, and not allow anything to discourage you from creating a life where you are living in this purpose/assignment. It is my belief that a very critical part of enjoying true fulfillment in life comes from working in your assignment. Since we consume so much of our day in work, if we are not working in our assignment we are depriving ourselves of a certain level of joy. A joy that is essential to live a truly fulfilled life. My advice to anyone who is working diligently at anything is to identify if it is what you have been called to do. If it is not, start figuring out where your assignment lies and then gradually start transitioning your energy into that thing until it can support your lifestyle. At the point where you can support your lifestyle, that is when you start to dedicate your life to it. Words cannot describe the joy of waking up in the morning doing what you know you were called to do. Find your assignment and then live in it!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
With the biggest smile on my face that I can muster I have to say that I have no clue! I have lived in Atlanta for 14 years and still do not make any “itineraries” for outings! Thankfully I have great people around me that are awesome at planning wonderful events and fun times!

I have had so many people, companies, books, etc. that have impacted my life and assisted me in continuing down this journey of growth and evolution. I could write a page of thanks and recognition. With respect for time I will attempt to sum up some of the key figures:
