We had the good fortune of connecting with Shelby Franklin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shelby, how do you think about risk?
In order to see results, I believe you have to take a risk. No matter if the risk is Big or Small the invest is the true meaning. I took the risk of Investing in myself in order to see my results.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Where I am today, is because I started at the bottom at UPS as a seasonal helper. After working as a seasonal helper for a year I knew I wanted to be the coordinator. I knew right then it was time to ask the right question. The following year I was the coordinator, 2 years after that I became a supervisor. While working at UPS I traveled to Africa and meet people who I will share a life time of memories and connections with. In my experiences I learned that anything EASY is NOT worth keeping. Life has many challenging that will create better paths and based on my mindset was how I would achieve my goal. What I am most proud of is the ability to keep getting back up after failing at something. I am most excited that through tutoring I get to leave behind a legacy that will out live me. A lessons I have learn along the way is Be Yourself, Be honest and You have to have a team. I want the World to Know that My team and I are building a positive brand that will inspire people to believe in who they are.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my best friend and I hang out its all about presentation and atmosphere. We love the culture of Atlanta, its like attending and HBCU For life. With in this week of my bestfriend staying with me we would For sure visit The Pancake Social, Hugo’s Oyster bar, Pin and Proper, Roswell Mill waterfall, Harold’s Chicken and Ice bar, but when it time to wind down we would do yoga in piedmont with B focus. Living in Atlanta Makes it so easy To have funny but also network with local Business like Melanated Peral, Living in your purpose. My best friends knows that when in Atlanta all things can be possible its just who you know.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

Thankful for my leadership Group ToastMasters Victory Voices Of Vision for allowing me to express myself with confidence and Sincerity to improve my leadership skills.
