We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaliyah Parks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aaliyah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was to create exposure. I wanted to do all kinds of events not just birthday parties or baby showers. I wanted to branch off into conferences & proms.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m excited about the avenues that come with Event Planning. I can’t wait to have a destination wedding overseas and bring to life an extraordinary theme. I have came this far due to dedicating time into my dream. I don’t have “office hours”, I’m always preparing for the next event even if it’s months away. I’m always researching and educating myself of new techniques and easier/faster ways to create my goals of how I want an event to look. I want the world to know I’m not competing or attempting to be THE Event Planner. But I’m one planner that realizes your celebrations are special and when you choose Events’ Paradise, Your celebrations are special to me also.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live south of Atlanta. Close enough to come, enjoy and leave. But far enough from the hustle and bustle to relax and have some peace. If my best friend is out of town and looking for a great time, Atlanta is the answer. Breakfast at Milk & Honey with their amazing red velvet waffles. Lunch at Cirque, seafood & alcoholic slushees are a just the highlight of the day. From cooking classes, Sip & Paint activities or a fun time at an escape room. Atlanta will keep you busy.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The list is too long! Starting with my parents, entrepreneurs themselves, were the brains of my beginning . I knew I wanted a business but wasn’t sure how to start and what direction I wanted to go in. I had so many passions but Event Planning was something I enjoyed and saw myself doing forever: I’ve met so many amazing and selfless people along the way. Who didn’t mind sharing their secrets and suggesting what they felt would help my growth.
