We had the good fortune of connecting with Maria Lizi Stroud and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maria Lizi, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
The end goal of my career as an Invention Coach & Patented Inventor is to help many people get started on their Invention Journey, acquire their Intellectual Property (Patents), become financially free by making Royalties to create Generational Wealth for their families. A goal for myself is to become known as the Most Successful & Richest Black Woman Inventor in History.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
MES & Co LLC is a company that provides consulting services to inventors, innovators, and people with ideas on their Invention Journey. Some of those services include: Idea Research Reports, Provisional Patent, Product Sell Sheet, Product Explainer Video, and Licensing. What sets me apart is for 1 I am a successful patented inventor that has accomplished everything in the Invention Industry. Also, there are not many people at all that do anything like what I do and I’m a Black Woman Inventor in the Invention Industry where there aren’t many. I am most proud of all my success, all the inventors I am helping & their success and I’m excited to be fulfilling my mission to help inventors take their ideas, make royalties, to create financial freedom and generational wealth. My invention Journey started in 2012, I took courses, had mentors, coaches, bought many books & programs, joined inventor groups, attended conferences, and learned everything I could about Patents & Inventions. After having much success many people would ask me to also help them so that is why I started MES & Co in 2019. MES is my initials which spell “mess” so I decided to turn “my mess into my message.” This Invention Journey was not easy and took a long time but only because in the beginning there were not a lot of resources, it was very expensive and hard to understand which is what also prompted me to do what I’m doing today. The ways I overcame my most difficult obstacles were believing in myself & my goals even if no one else did, by never giving up, learning all I could, asking for help, and staying consistent. I’ve learned that everyone is not gonna see your vision, understand your dreams and maybe even ridicule you for it but God didn’t give the dream to them, it was given to you so believe that if you push through no matter what you will be blessed & successful. I want the world to know that inventing a product is easy, you just have to work out your creative muscle, come up with an idea to make a product you use every day better and that this will give you a life of financial freedom. Also, there are not many Black Inventors and my mission is to change that.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love The Avalon & The Battery. I just relocated here a year ago so I don’t know many places because of the pandemic. I would go to The Avalon, shop at a few stores, pick any restaurant Meditarrian, Mexican, American, Italian, Steakhouse or etc. Then we can chill in the middle while watching the waterfall.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The biggest shoutout I would like to give is to Dave Korpi from California, who has taught me almost everything I need to know about Patents after purchasing his Patent Course. From there I thought of many ideas, bought more books, attended conferences, licensing coaches, etc. while on my Invention Journey.

**Disclaimer: I am not a Patent Attorney or Agent, nor do I give legal advice. I am a Invention Coach with expertise & knowledge of Patents, Inventions and Product Innovation use to help others with ideas.
