We had the good fortune of connecting with Katie Davison and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My little bakery was born out of my need for a creative outlet. I have always loved baking and all things art, I just never had the time to commit to being a better baker. After our second son was born, I started baking more while being at home with him. I took to social media to share my treats and the rest is history!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
From a young age, I was always drawn to the arts. I started ballet when I was 4 and danced all the way through college. I have a BFA in Musical Theatre and enjoy any outlet that is creative. I grew up baking with my grandmother every holiday season. Once we started a family, I wanted to carry over those traditions and put my own spin on them. I set my sights on macarons first. I worked so hard to perfect my recipe and baking and was so excited when everything finally clicked. My next goal was cakes. When news of my cakes and macarons started to spread, Pine Cone Bakery was born. I have now been a cottage foods bakery for the last 3 years and it has been the best experience of my life. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First stop would be Hell Yeah Gluten Free Bakery. They have the best pastries in town and I love their little bakery! Next, we would head to the Atlanta Zoo. That is favorite spot of me and my family. We would end the day with a family meal at home and dessert grazing display and some bubbly. I love to have an assortment of treats when families come to visit. Best day! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband is my biggest fan and supporter. He was my first taste tester, employee and has always pushed me to perfect my craft. He, along with my two little boys, help me with deliveries, marketing and content on a daily basis. I do not know where I’d be without all my boys and I thank them every single day for their support!
