We had the good fortune of connecting with Asha Riley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Asha, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
As an entrepreneur you have to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. That feeling is what motivates me to go hard! I look at high risks with the potential of having a high reward. Looking back on my life thus far, every milestone moment came after a risk was taken.

What should our readers know about your business?
Founded in 2020, after making charm bangles and custom pieces, I decided to start a jewelry company. Gemocracy is a woman owned and ran small business, based in Atlanta,GA. Fundamentally, we believe that every woman deserves jewelry that lives up to the high bar she sets! So, we focus on what matters: durable material built for everyday wear and tear plus transparent pricing! In the spirit of the brand lies the adventure of self- discovery, the celebration of who you are and who you aspire to become.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area, we would definitely hit up a comedy club. We’re both silly and love to laugh! We’re also both adventurous and love to have fun, so I would take them to a few amusement centers. Such as iFly, The Escape Game Atlanta, Krog Street Tunnel, Fernbank Museum to name a few. I love rooftop dining, so we would have to visit SkyLounge, 9 Mile Station and The Sun Dial. There’s so much to do, so I know we would have a great time together.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I want to give a shout out to my fiancé for always supporting me in anything i do and always being there when needed. Next, I would like to give a shout-out to my Mentor Michelle Montgomery, she has helped me structure my business and manifest everything that I want. Lastly but certainly not least, I would like to shout out Shay Cosey and Tashara Todd, they’re two amazing business owners that have spoke life into my business and cheered me on along the way.
