Meet Dr. Latangela Coleman-Crossfield: CEO & Media Personality

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Latangela Coleman-Crossfield and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Latangela, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Prayer and love are the thought process behind starting Kreative Christian Works, Inc. and Love Manifesto Radio Show. I literally had a dream about starting Kreative Christian Works. KCW’s mission is to reveal and develop within and for its clients, the inherent extraordinary abilities that will move them forward in their personal and professional lives. One day after prayer, while contemplating creating a radio broadcast, Love Manifesto’s premise and business model was birth. The premise for Love Manifesto radio show is to explore, to analyze, and to manifest thriving platonic, intimate, and business relationships. Prayer is more than a ritual or a tradition to and for me. It is the means by which I communicate with God. Thus, allowing Him and Holy Spirt to lead and guide me. In doing so, I discover, who I am, where am, and how to navigate this journey called

Dr. Tangi is also a board member for Kids Off The Block – Atlanta, GA. One of her many passions is to minister to the broken-hearted and to leave a legacy of reproducers of reproducers of her vision – sharing knowledge that transforms lives. I am absolutely passionate about teaching history. For this reason, I believe that my passion to impart knowledge encourages students to develop or enhance their desire to gain knowledge. However, my primary goal as an instructor encompasses much more than imparting knowledge to students. It also involves teaching critical thinking as a method to evaluate, access, and verify ideas, events, and all transmitted information. For example, my teaching philosophy aims to transform and improve the growth of every student, thus encouraging them to seek for facts, to seek for the truth, to compare opinions, to dialogue about world leaders, nature, and God. This type of teaching ultimately transforms subjects and allows them to discover values, meanings, life, and the importance of community. Since the classroom is not a natural setting in which students can experience realistic phenomena related to the social world, I utilize various methods to depict real life issues and concerns about United States History, Oral/Georgia History, USA, Africa and the World, African American History, and African History. Therefore, I incorporate journal articles, anthologies, news articles, poetry, and/or film to complement course work. In an attempt to strengthen and stimulate minds, I also employ the use of guest speakers and classroom debates. Assignments may include an assortment of exercises such as group projects, power point presentations, term papers, and other content specific exercises. Moreover, student response systems, cellular phones, flip cameras, laptops, online history games, and mock tests are utilized to enhance student learning. Class time is not solely based on lectures. In-class time incorporate a range of activities that enable students the opportunity to contribute to the plethora of topics discussed during the semester. Finally, I am launching a sports-wear, hat, t-shirt, bag, and mug line September 2020.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta, Georgia is an international city of love and unending things to do. When my family and friends visit me, I always ask them what do they prefer to do. If they are not sure, I often suggest visiting Stone Mountain Park where we can grill, fish, and or capture fireworks, Lake Lanier is a great place for those who are interested in swimming, fishing, boating, or simply relaxing under the sun. Lenox Square Mall, Atlantic Station, and the Mall of Georgia are great places to shop until you “drop.” I prefer to see a play or enjoy a concert at The Fox Theatre and Chastain Park Amphitheatre. These venues are conveniently located near the restaurants I thoroughly enjoy. Atlanta has many different restaurants, but it is impossible to eat at most of them in 7 days. Therefore, I will only recommend Tassili’s Raw Reality, Atlanta Fish Market, Pappadeaux Restaurant, Fresh To Order and Paschal’s Restaurant, I love baseball, so we definitely have to catch a brave’s game if possible, if not, the Atlanta Falcons is next on the roster. It’s imperative that my guests take a trip to The African American Panoramic Experience where every month is Black History Month. The APEX Museum aims to capture the unadulterated truth about Black History. No trip to Atlanta, Georgia is complete without at least a city tour of Piedmont Park, Centennial Olympic Park, The Georgia State Capitol, The World of Coca-Cola, and The Atlanta University Campus which houses the largest consortium of African Americans in higher education in the United States of America.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother Susie E. Fuller-Onwukara, worked two jobs to send me to Christian Day School. She also assisted me with the rearing of my only child Bianca Dillard who transitioned to Glory at the age of 17. My mother also assisted me financially during my final semester of graduate school. She is and always has been a Giver, not only to her children, but also to family members and friends.
