We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrianna Mason and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adrianna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After becoming a mom only a few weeks before my 18th birthday I knew that it was time for me to transition and make adult-like decisions. I did not want to become a statistic. I did not want to repeat this cycle. I wanted my child to have a stable upbringing. Everything was about her. I decided to learn about credit and financial literacy and invested all my time into building my credit score to a 720 at 21 years old. I purchased my first home in October 2015 and my life hasn’t been the same since. I feel that so many of us desire to become a homeowner, but we dont have a blueprint. We think owning a house is for the rich, but in actuality, it’s simply for the wise. You dont have to be rich or wealthy to buy a house. I made less than $30,000 a year with student loans and a car note, but because I understood credit and money my outcome was different than most people my age. My business is designed to help young adults gain this understanding before going into debt.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Starting my business wasn’t hard, but staying consistent and motivated was. I found myself caring about peoples financial future more than they cared about their financial future and it started to stress me out. I had to learn how to find people who wanted change as bad as I did when I was 21. Once I changed my perspective and stopped complaining about who didn’t want help and stopped forcing people to want change, I began meeting customers who did! This helped me stop treating my business as a hobby and successfully help people who truly valued and later benefited from my services. One thing I noticed is that in order for people to start building a better financial future they have to have income. When you lack income you’re more likely to miss payments and have accounts go into collections. I also own a call center that allows people to work from home! This helps you solve problem number 1. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Although I don’t live in the city of Atlanta myself, the best place to do any and everything is in Atlanta! I would recommend getting up early to visit Breakfast at Barneys as well as visiting the winery at Chateau Elan. If still available I would also recommend renting out a movie theatre so that they can safely go out, get dressed up, and watch any of the movies they may have been wanting to see, but couldn’t due to COVID. All of these things would be great, safe, and memorable things to do together.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to thank my mom April Mason for always overextending herself and trying to do the best she could with what she had. I owe my confidence, intelligence, and ambition to her.
