We had the good fortune of connecting with Savannah Prewitt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Savannah, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of Small Town Salon has been creating a place where people feel genuinely seen, comfortable, and cared for — not just another salon appointment.

In a small town, relationships matter more than anything. Clients come for the hair, but they stay because of the atmosphere, trust, consistency, and connection. Building a brand that feels welcoming, relatable, and community-centered has made the biggest impact.

Another huge factor has been authenticity. Instead of trying to be a “big city” salon, Small Town Salon leaned into what makes it different — the small-town charm, personal experience, and real relationships behind the chair. That authenticity helped create loyalty and word-of-mouth growth that can’t be bought.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career started with a passion for beauty at a really young age. I’ve lived in Pike County my whole life, and growing up in a small town taught me the value of relationships, hard work, and community. What started as simply loving hair and making people feel confident eventually turned into building Small Town Salon into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

What sets me apart is that I’ve never wanted the salon to feel transactional. I wanted it to feel welcoming, personal, and real — a place where clients could come not only for great hair, but to feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. I think people connect with authenticity, and I’ve always tried to build my brand around that.

Professionally, the journey definitely wasn’t easy. Owning a business comes with a lot of pressure that people don’t always see — long hours, financial stress, learning how to lead a team, balancing creativity with business decisions, and carrying the responsibility of making sure everything keeps moving forward. There were moments of self-doubt and growing pains, but every challenge taught me something valuable.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that consistency matters more than perfection. Showing up every day, continuing to learn, adapting when things get hard, and treating people well will take you further than anything else. I’ve also learned that building a strong team and positive culture is just as important as talent behind the chair.

What I’m most proud of is creating a brand that truly reflects where I come from. Small Town Salon isn’t about trying to fit into a mold — it’s about embracing the small-town roots, supporting the community, helping people feel confident, and creating opportunities for other stylists to grow.

I want people to know that behind the brand is a real person who built this through passion, persistence, and love for the industry. My story isn’t about overnight success — it’s about staying committed, continuing to evolve, and building something meaningful for both my clients and my community.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was coming to visit for a week, honestly the goal wouldn’t be to do the fanciest things — it would be to experience the small-town charm, good food, local people, and laid-back lifestyle that make this area feel like home.

We’d definitely spend time around Williamson and nearby small towns because that’s where some of the best hidden gems are. A perfect morning would start with coffee from a local café, riding around back roads, and stopping at little shops and boutiques you’d never find in a big city.

Of course, we’d spend some time at Small Town Salon because it’s such a huge part of my life and honestly feels like home. The salon isn’t just about hair — it’s become a place where people gather, laugh, vent, and connect.

For food, I’d mix in local southern comfort spots with fun girls-night dinners nearby in places like Senoia or Peachtree City. We’d probably spend one day shopping and exploring, another day by the pool or outside enjoying Georgia weather, and definitely end a few nights sitting outside talking for hours.

I’d also want them to experience local events, baseball games, small-town festivals, and just the sense of community around here. Growing up in a small town means people know each other, support each other, and really show up for one another — and I think that’s something special people don’t always get to experience anymore.

The most interesting part of this area to me honestly isn’t a specific attraction — it’s the people. The stories, the friendships, the loyal clients, the hardworking families, and the sense of community are what make this place feel unique. That’s really what inspired the entire vision behind Small Town Salon in the first place

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely have to give a shoutout to my family, friends, and the amazing stylists at Small Town Salon. Building a business takes a village, and I truly wouldn’t be where I am without the people who believed in me from the beginning.

My family and friends have supported me through the long hours, stressful days, big ideas, and growing pains that come with owning a salon. Their encouragement kept me going even during the hard seasons.

And of course, the stylists at Small Town Salon deserve so much credit. They help create the environment and experience our clients love. Their talent, teamwork, creativity, and dedication are a huge part of what makes the salon special. Watching everyone grow together has honestly been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.
