We had the good fortune of connecting with Dee And Shuntiee Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dee and Shuntiee, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting Tall Grl really came from lived experiences. So many times, women, especially tall women would come up to us and ask where we shop or how we find pieces that actually fit our height. We’ve always loved fashion, but we noticed there weren’t many accessible options made with tall women in mind. That’s when we realized we could take our passion and turn it into purpose. Tall Grl was created not just to fill a gap in the market, but to make sure tall women and girls feel seen, stylish, and confident in clothing that truly fits them.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets Tall Grl apart is that we center everything around tall women of all shapes and sizes. We want every tall woman to feel represented and confident in our pieces. One thing we’re especially excited about right now is our upcoming Fall/Winter sets. With our very first drop, we ran into some challenges with sizing, but this time around, we’re making sure it’s better than ever. Refined, more inclusive, and tailored to fit the way it should.

The journey hasn’t been easy, but the lessons we’ve learned along the way have been invaluable. We’ve learned the importance of patience and, most importantly, to always have faith in ourselves. What I want the world to know about Tall Grl is that no matter your shape or size, you deserve to be bold and stand tall in who you are. And above all, we couldn’t do any of this without God. It’s our faith in Him that keeps us grounded and gives us hope for all that’s still to come

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, I’d definitely make sure they experienced the best of Austin! As a city girl, I love taking people to The Domain because it has so much to offer! Anything from shopping to dining, just soaking in the chill vibe. We’d also spend time strolling through downtown Austin, checking out the historic buildings and enjoying the pretty lights at night!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We definitely wouldn’t be where we are today without the love and encouragement of our parents, family, and friends. Our parents have always been a huge motivation for us, constantly reminding us to keep pushing and stay grounded. Our friends and family continue to support us in every step of this journey, whether it’s through encouragement, feedback, or simply cheering us on.

A special shoutout goes to our mom. She made sure we knew there was nothing wrong with being tall. She constantly spoke life into us, reminding us how beautiful and unique we were. That foundation of confidence and self-love is exactly what we want Tall Grl to represent and pass on to others
