Meet Quellyn Kennedy | Spa Owner, Licensed Esthetician & Holistic Wellness Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Quellyn Kennedy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Quellyn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to create a sanctuary. Not just a spa, but a space where women could take off all the roles they carry and simply be. A place where they didn’t have to give, perform, or hold it all together. Just room to breathe, reconnect, and feel supported.
Sulis was born from my desire to offer more than skincare. I wanted to create a space where women could feel seen, held, and replenished. Somewhere they could return to themselves and remember that rest and radiance go hand in hand.

What should our readers know about your business?
Hell no it wasn’t easy, but I saw it through. I made a decision and stuck with it, and I’ve learned to ride the waves as they come. I’ve been fortunate to have some incredible business men and women in my life. People who mentored me, poured into me, or unknowingly taught me just by how they move. Everything I needed always showed up right when I needed it, and for that, I’m deeply grateful.
So many gems I’ve picked up came from simply listening, observing, and most importantly, doing. I didn’t just study business. I built one while learning in real time. I’ve made mistakes, made pivots, and made peace with not having it all figured out. What sets me apart is that I lead with both intuition and strategy. I bring beauty, intention, and healing into everything I do, and I don’t move unless it feels aligned.
My brand is rooted in transformation. Whether it’s skincare, a wellness experience, or simply a moment of stillness in someone’s day, I’m here to help women reconnect with themselves and feel empowered in their bodies and their lives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’re definitely starting with some beauty and culture. I’d take them to the High Museum, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, and Gibbs Garden. I love curated, visually stunning experiences that blend art and nature.
We’d get outdoors with a hike at Vickery Creek Trail to visit the waterfall at Roswell Mill. It’s peaceful and energizing, and yes, we’re getting in the water.
We’d spend an afternoon strolling through The Shops at Buckhead, and stop by Yebo for their frozen espresso martini. For dinner, beautiful bites at Atlas are a must. One night has to end at Johnny’s Hideaway. It’s an Atlanta classic and always a good time.
We’d also carve out time for some self-care at Sulis Skincare & Spa. It’s my boutique wellness space where I help women reset through restorative facials and intentional self-care. I love being able to share that experience when people I love come to town.
Since it’s the South, we’re definitely going to Sunday service at LIIV Atlanta. It’s uplifting, powerful, and the perfect way to end the trip on a high note.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without a doubt, I dedicate this shoutout to my Aunt Saba. She was the first person who truly introduced me to the power of self-care, movement, and honoring your spirit. She loved dance, facials, and self-care rituals. These are the same things that now shape the foundation of my work. Her energy was radiant and unforgettable, and even in her absence, she continues to guide me.
Losing her to suicide changed the course of my life. It made me realize how important it is for women, especially Black women, to have safe spaces to rest, reconnect, and feel supported. Everything I create, from Sulis to my wellness experiences, carries a piece of her light.
Saba’s legacy is alive in my work. I’m forever grateful for the way she shaped my path with her love, her joy, and her spirit.
