Today we’re excited to be connecting with Praysha Spearman again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Praysha, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
Hi, I’m Praysha Spearman and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). My private practice is Renew Therapy, LLC. I specialize in trauma therapy via Telehealth for clients across the state of Georgia. I also supervise other therapists under my practice, interns and independent contractors, which allows more clients to work with me indirectly through “Supervised Services.” Many of my clients meet weekly or biweekly with a student therapist or a pre-licensed clinician, and their cases are brought to me on a weekly basis for supervision. The best part is how accessible the sessions are for clients. Instead of paying $300 per hour, clients pay as low as $25 per hour, even for family and couples therapy!

Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
The most exciting and important update in my life is that my husband and I have become new parents! Our little one has rocked our world in so many good ways, including my business!

Since birthing our beloved son, I launched a new e-course called “Cracking the G-Code” (CGC). It is specifically designed for black men who desire a healthy marriage, but have struggled with a history of infidelity. CGC helps men overcome common pitfalls that may taint their relationships and attitudes towards marriage. It focuses on helping you, the consumer, define a legacy and make actionable steps towards your future. It also does this within a community of black & BIPOC men who have all undergone the same process. The support of like-minded men makes all the difference in this e-course! CGC is available for purchase now through RenewTherapyGA.com/cracking-the-g-code.

Another update in my business has to do with families who need Divorce Mediation Services. I am now accepting cases as an Advocate for families transitioning from one home to two. My role as an Advocate is similar to a Divorce Mediator, but with a seamless process that saves the client time and money. This process helps families transition from one household into two, with less stress, fewer expenses, and in less time than the traditional legal divorce process. Divorce is already traumatic enough, and I am passionate about helping families prevent undue trauma throughout the entire process. My role as a Divorce Family Advocate allows me to do just that.

Life is often about tough choices – can you talk to us about your thought process, strategy or philosophy when it comes to making difficult choices or tradeoffs.
My philosophy is that life problems are a normal part of our human existence, and if you don’t have any life problems, you are no longer human, but a robot! So, therapy is for anyone who feels stuck in any particular life problem. Likewise, therapy is done when you no longer feel stuck, and you feel more confident in your ability to move through life problems as they come, without getting stuck again!

I believe we are all wired for connection, but not just any type of connection… safe, meaningful, reliable connections are the types of relationships we can depend on.
